Do not hire AMA! I hired AMA to do the floors in my new home, and bot do I regret it. I hired him to pull the carpet and refinish the floors in my new home. Two of the bedrooms had already been done in a natural glossy finish. I asked if they could match and was told “no problem.” The original floors were in good shape, they needed some spots replaced, but there were no deep stains or extensive water damage. The crew said that the floors were only sanded once when they were installed. When complete, the floors looked good at first glance, but as we moved in, we noticed issues, such as areas where the putty wasn’t level, areas where the floor felt rough and hard to walk on with bare feet. The finish also didn’t match the bedrooms had been done prior, those floors were glossy, and the new floors were a flat finish. In addition, there were areas where the finish bubbled and areas in one closet where no putty was used, and the floors looked terrible. They also didn’t tell me that I would need to install a quarter round throughout the house and that they did not provide that or paint the quarter round. Luckily I happen to have a handyman there doing other work who could take care of it last minute. He did tell me I would need to touch paint, which we planned to do, but nothing about a massive project of installing trim throughout the house. I texted Danny, the owner, and asked if we could discuss, and his response was horrifying. His first response was that he had never had a customer complain in 28 years and that I was wrong. I was taken aback and not sure what to expect when he got here. When he got here, he was incredibly defensive; everything I pointed out was immediately wrong. A lot happened quickly, but during that time and while in my home, he called me cheap, ridiculous, said my floors were trashy. Finally, he got so aggressive that my husband had to step out of a meeting to make sure I was ok. There was no reasonable offer to make repairs, and I had to ask him to leave my home because I became flooded by his behavior. This experience was horrible, and I could not believe that a vendor came into my house to yell at me. I asked for information on how to care for my floors, and what he sent me was a joke; he sent me a list of what not to do; included in that list was a specific water-based product when I asked for clarification use that product. So I decided to cut my losses and stop trying to get any customer service from him and google it myself and be done with AMA. I have never spent so much money on a service and been treated so poorly.
