Order windows 4 months ago!! In the last 4 weeks i have called 8 times to get a update on them and can not get a call back!! And get any updates !! I wouldn’t recommend them

The install crew for this company made me very happy. Chance Cromwell, Matt (didn’t get his last name) and Todd Kitrell were amazing! It was evident they cared about doing quality work and at once left me at ease. They cleaned up after themselves and put everything back better than they found it. The new windows are wonderful! Not only does my house look more modern, I can no longer feel drafts and the loud Highway noises from log trucks is reduced to a level I cannot believe. I am beyond ESTATIC and would recommend using McDaniels if you need new windows. Also, my sales rep Marty was great.

It’s unfortunate that they do not stand by their work, warranty does not include the glass. If windows become cloudy due to low quality material they used, they don’t care.

I wish I had seen all these reviews before my parents paid a fortune to replace a large picture window in their kitchen/den. What was quoted was not the price they were charged. They were given a four week delivery/install date which they kept putting off. What started as 4 weeks turned into 9 weeks. They started job on a Thursday and didn’t finish. Said they’d be back in the morning. They weren’t. They left a huge hole and rain was expected over the weekend so my Dad had to cover it. We called first thing Monday and nobody would call us back. Someone finally came Wed by himself and then left because the window was too large for him to install alone. It took another week before they showed back up and finally finished. The window leaks in the bottom left corner and has ever since. Please do no use these people.

McDaniel Window and Door has been locally owned and operated in the Shoals area for over 47 years. Under the operation of Mike McDaniel, the company had a well-known reputation for good quality product, installation, and customer care service. When I chose McDaniel for my recent installation, this is the man and the company that I thought I would be doing business with. I was wrong. Mr. McDaniel is no longer involved in the day-to-day operation. Now it is being run by his stepson Woodard F. Watkins. Mr. Watkins is the co-owner, Vice President, and Salesperson of McDaniel Window and Door. He “personally” handles all aspects of your order from start to finish including window measurements, estimated quotes, order placement, shipping, scheduling, and warranty issues. I wish that I had known this beforehand and had done my research, not only into McDaniel Window and Door but of Woodard F. Watkins as well (complaints, reviews, ect). Because if I had known then what I know now, I would never have entrusted my project to this man or to this company. My personal experience with Mr. Watkins and McDaniel Window and Door was one of delays, poor communication, conflicting information, poor customer service, and a poor-quality window installation. After what I experienced and the way that I was treated by Mr. Watkins, I would never recommend doing business with McDaniel Window and Door to anyone. I trusted that McDaniel Window and Door would do a quality install and treat my home with respect and care. A decision I deeply regret. I put my faith in the wrong company and the wrong man. On September 8, 2023, I placed an order with Mr. Watkins for installation of 10 replacement windows at a cost of $8275.00. The lead time for the windows Mr. Watkins quoted me was 3 weeks. Thirteen weeks later, on December 12, 2023, McDaniel Window and Door installed eight of the ten replacement windows. Two windows were missing from the order along with 3 window screens. On December 14th and 16th, I contacted Mr. Watkins to address problems with the installation and that I was not happy with the final product, the quality, or the service that I received: 1.The installers left debris in my yard such as insulation, glass shards, wood, and plastic. They failed to use drop cloths and protective footwear as I was told that they would when working inside the home. As a result, there was damage to my hardwood flooring (chips, scratches, black sticky residue stains). 2.All eight window frames are bowed or curved at the base of the frame. I feel this is a result of strain from improper fit, poor installation, and incorrect measurements. 3.Dented Damaged areas on some of the frames 4.Water Leakage at the base of semicircular transom window I have continued to reach out to Mr. Watkins to request that the window frames be repaired, replaced, or refund in full. It has been over two months since my installation, and the remaining two windows still have not been installed nor have the problems with the window frames been repaired or replaced. I feel this is a breach of contract and failure to honor the warranty. I have asked for a full refund at this point, which I have not received and there has been no further response from Mr. Watkins on the matter.

I entered a contract with this company. They installed the windows and I completed payment of our contract then called me back for another $2500.00 saying it was for additional work they had to do that we never discussed.

One day,-14 windows I did not think it would be done. It was done very professionally and efficiently. They were very knowledgeable and able to handle unforeseen circumstances that arose. A very great and pleasant experience.

Very unorganized business to deal with. I went in store and got my original quote and took it home to discuss with my husband, returned exactly a week later to place my order and the sales person had no record of the original quote he gave me. I had not brought it with me so we attempted to draft up a whole new quote and I paid my deposit and got home to discover that the prices did not match. After that the sales man went on to call me 3 times to say things were done on the paperwork incorrectly and that the final price would be a little more. I basically just set my mind to review and discuss the issue when my windows and door came in and I paid my balance. Which brings me to another issue I had, I was told my products would be in in 6 weeks. I was told this explicitly because the salesman wanted me to be aware before I ordered anything. I remember looking at my calendar and stating that 6 weeks aligned perfectly with our contractors’ schedules. My husband and my contractors confirmed the week of, 3 different times that they were arriving on time and were assured they were. My contractors set to work cutting the holes in the side of our house where the windows and door were meant to go and then we were informed the day before expected arrival that they would in fact not be in for another 3 weeks. Which left my husband and I and our 2 small children living for nearly a month with holes in the side of our house that anyone could just walk through. THEN to top it off when the windows finally arrived and we went to pay, the final price was written in their paperwork was significantly higher than what was on my invoice. I basically had to make a fuss and ask to see the manager to get them to honor the contract that I was given when I paid my deposit. In summary, dealing with this company was a mess. My expectation when choosing a company is for my order to be delivered when promised and to pay the price agreed upon. I was flabbergasted at how this company operates. Would not recommend with so many local options.

Dependable, great selection, high quality, and the staff treats you like family. 100% would recommend!
