I didn’t have any work done by D-S, but I have to give them a 5-star for their help. I was trying to match some vinyl siding for my house, and the box stores, and even the lumber yards, and building supply stores had failed. I was literally on my third order/return process and was very frustrated. I had lost literally a month and a half spinning my wheels and dealing with vendor ineptness. I decided to talk to a D-S exteriors (found them on the way home with a quick search on my phone), about ordering up the siding. I talked to Dan (his office is simply the upstairs of a residential home). He told me to come over with my piece of vinyl siding and he would see if he could match it. We managed to do so after some sample comparisons. And he clued me into the history of that particular siding, and who supplied it in the area years ago. I went to them, and two weeks later, I had the siding. Hallelujah!!!! Finally! I offered Dave some money for his time, he didn’t even want any. He said he was just glad to help a DIY’er get a project done. I don’t know if I’ve been as happy with a Chicago vendor. Five stars was well earned!! If I have to hire a contractor in the future, it will be D-S. I took his card too, to recommend to others.

I’ve use D-S Exteriors for several projects over the years. They’ve installed soffit vents, gutters/downspouts with leaf filters, doors, windows. I’ve been pleased with quality of work, products, and price on each job. They are a “Goldilocks” size company. Not so large they only want big jobs and you don’t get personal attention. Not so small they subcontract or struggle to handle the workload. I’ll be scheduling another project this Spring.

D-S did a great job in installing 2 new Provia steel doors in our kitchen. Joe was fantastic to work with from start to finish from the planning stage up through the actual install and the installers did an excellent jobs as well. We’re very happy with the work and will use again to replace additional doors.

We have worked with D-S Exteriors over the last 10 years. They have replaced our soffits & fascia as well as our gutters. Two years ago we put in new windows and they are great! We’ve had wonderful service and communication with Dan, one of the owners, and also with his job foreman. We highly recommend D-S Exteriors!

Joe was great! We had a part break in a window after 4 or 5 years and he came to look at it the same day and contacted the manufacturer immediately so we could get it fixed quickly. Jeff from Midway fixed it a couple of days later and it is as good as new. Great service from 2 extremely nice and competent guys.

We selected D-S Exteriors to complete a few relatively small repairs due to damage from having our roof redone by another contractor. They were a bit challenging to get ahold of at first, but after that were relatively communicative. We were able to get a quote quickly. We were told they were just waiting for materials to come in, but were later told they lost our info and had to come out to take pictures and get a color match. We inquired several times about the repair work date, and kept being told that we would be contacted to schedule our repairs. However we had no notice until there was man carrying supplies into the backyard, who I only saw when I went to take the dog out. They also left a mess when they left that we had to clean up. Someone came out to answer questions about the repairs, as the worker who was here didn’t tell us the job was completed so we couldn’t ask questions before he left. They appear to have done a good job with the repairs, but the process was not enjoyable.
