It’s been a long time since I’ve called them. As they were at my home to repair a broken spring. Now I’ve noticed another problem not related to the past. On July 15th 2024 I called Hudson Overhead Doors. For some reason the garage opener wasn’t responding to the remote controls I have. Within an hour I had an associate from HOD called Paul which made a few adjustments with some cleaning of my garage door opener and now it’s working great. Fantastic work! Fair pricing. I called for a broken spring. A tech was out in about 2 hours. Quick, tidy work. He made sure everything about the door and opener were tip-top before leaving, not just the spring. I’ve never seen/heard the door operate better.

Terrific service! I happen to be very nearby, but Paul showed up in 1/2 hour, as promised, completed the work (new spring) in 1/2 hour, and charged a very fair price. Highly recommend!

Able to correctly identify issue with garage door over the phone. Had availability both the day of and next day to get our door working again. Paul came out at the scheduled time, walked me through the work that would be done, and got it done quickly at a competitive price.

Called for an appointment and the voicemail box was full. They called back soon after and said they could come out there same Thursday, just needed to call me back to confirm morning or afternoon. Never called back and never showed up.

Disorganized. These folks are nice people, but apparently could not occasionally cooperate to accomplish simple tasks. This is a family outfit: mom, dad and two sons. Mom does the dispatching, the rest: the work. I needed a garage door replaced. Call the mom. She sounds like a nice person. She calls me back with an appointment. A day before the appointment, the son makes a surprise appearance. Nice guy. Says he is here to fix a spring. I explain that I asked for a new door. He says: “No problem, the job is easy”, measures, says that the dad will be along with an estimate shortly. A week passes: no dad. I call the mom, explain the situation. She makes an appointment for the dad to come. He comes on time. Nice guy. measures, talks, a bit about the work and, at length about his faith and tough childhood. Says he’ll come up with the estimate this evening. A few days pass: no estimate. I call the mom. She says he’ll get ahold of the dad. I call again a few days later. She says that they need the specs for the door. It sounds like she is not sure she is able to take this over the phone and suggests I’ll send it over their website form. I do so. A few more days pass. I call the mom again. She now recognizes me over the phone and says she will get ahold of the dad. I call again in a day or two. She says that she found the dad but he did not get back with her. At this point, she sounds like they collectively gave up on themselves trying to organize, so I leave them in peace.

Our family was scheduled to travel to Columbus early Sunday morning, only to find out that our garage door would not open. Called HOD and they were so kind to have their technician, Bill, come out within an hour. He was friendly, polite, courteous and knowledgeable. Bill immediately identified the problem, replaced our steel cables, with supplies that he had brought with him, and serviced the entire garage door mechanism. He completed the work quickly and efficiently, and charged us a fair price. Found out that the HOD company is local and family owned, and that Bill was their son. We are so thankful for their quick assistance, especially so early on a Sunday morning. Thanks to them we were able to leave within the hour and enjoy our day at COSI.
