I phoned their Salinas office on Monday and they offered me an appointment on Tuesday, the next day. Perfect for my non-emergency noisy door issues. Technician, Conner, diagnosed the problem to one of the bearings on the main shaft. He said this might be a good opportunity for me to replace the bearing on the other end of the shaft (which had not failed yet but was certainly the same age as the failed one). This was an excellent suggestion and Conner replaced both bearings. Then he proceeded to tighten ALL fasteners on the door hinges and track as well as lubricating ‘everything’. In addition, he told me what he was doing and, when asked, told me which points a homeowner should lubricate. Conner did a great job in a short time, he had no wasted steps and it was clear that he knew what he was doing every step of the way. Thank you to Pape Overhead Door of Salinas. February, 2023.

Frank here; Connor came out today too replace our old overhead garage door opener. I knew the old one was old, very noisy and starting to um’ malfunction. Connor showed me it was a 1993 model , I thought it might bee a 2004, Nope. Connor was very professional, very polite and very helpful. He did a great job removing and installing a very quiet and excellent new opener.Excellent Work, Connor 🙂

A few issues but overall good experience. Nice salesperson and he would always promptly get back to me. Had to have additional work done on the garage floor to make the door fit which was not found initially. That was unexpected but did not delay the install. Install was okay and the garage door looks great and functions normally. However, my main contractor picked up some small cosmetic issues with the install. Dirt and grease stains left on newly painted white ceiling. A few drilled holes in the ceiling were not filled, the tracks needed to be trimmed shorter, and the garage door motor was mounted crooked. So advice for an install of a garage door: Have them come out a week before the install to make sure everything is set and measurements are correct. Make sure the garage floor is checked and level at the opening. Good news is that the garage door works well, is of very good quality, looks nice on the outside, and it was a reasonable quote. Of note they did promptly acknowledged my complaint about the cosmetic findings and came back out to make things right. In summary: I would recommend Overhead Door of Salinas.

The tech who came was prompt, knowledgeable, and immediately diagnosed the issue that was adversely effecting my garage door. A nice guy who did a great job!

Their technician replaced the circuit board in our garage door opener and did a great job. He also caught a loose wire on the adjacent door opener and fixed that as well. Courteous, friendly and professional. These folks are legit!

I don’t know anything about garage doors – but having mine done through Overhead Door Company was questionable at best. They came out to simply fix a cut line that happened while redoing our garage. Didn’t seem like anything major so they quickly fixed and ran the lines up along the insulation we had put I the roof. That cost me about $200. The problem there is my contractor said that was dangerous so we ripped it back out – and the garage again stopped working. So Backdoor came back out after we finished the garage to fix it again, but rather than just own the mistake they charged me an additional $125 just for the labor to put the lines up plus another $85 for a part that probably should have been replaced the first time. So for $500 I should have just got a new garage door opener. I gave them 2 stars as it’s working now at least and they were quick to come.
