We had the worst experience with Cantera Doors. When buying our new home in Highland Park last fall, we knew we had to replace a 4 panel iron door which had been installed previously by Cantera. We paid 50% deposit in October ($$$), and the doors were to be ready in December. When they finally came the end of January, Jenny (their accountant) came to our house and insisted that I give her a check for the remaining 50% (before the panels were even off the truck). I said I didn’t feel comfortable because I had been taken advantage of before and she assured me the doors were correct and matched CAD drawing. I of course paid. Surprise surprise the doors did not match CAD! Further, they tried to retrofit the two incorrect panels over next few weeks wasting time, resources and money (you wouldn’t believe it!). Once they completed the unsuccessful door install, the only person who could open and close the door successfully was my husband. Only access to our backyard and outside. Cantera finally agreed to replace two of the panels and offered a refund of some sort via text (which we’ve never seen). The new doors came 3 months later (end of April) and finally worked. Now they refuse to acknowledge the compensation they owe us. My contractor had to make 17 more visits and calls trying to hold them accountable. It’s been so maddening, and I would never recommend them. Find someone else in Dallas. They’re either overcommitted or understaffed. Painful! Our experience was top notch! The consultant, Jenny was responsive and so helpful. Our door was delivered on time and the installers were amazing! They were so neat and paid attention to all the details. We could not be happier from start to finish. I highly recommend this company.
