Disaster America did a great job on the renovation of a water emergency I had in April… but: Fast forward to late June… The renovation/restoration was finally done: $72 THOUSAND DOLLARS later and 2 bedrooms, hall, bathroom, and 1/4 of the living room dried out and replaced by Disaster America USA. Now… 6 weeks ago (mid July) we started noticing a “buckle” in the floor right inside the front door (about 4 ft from where they deemed was the end of the water damage). 3 weeks ago the buckle had started protruding through the brand new LVP that they put down and it spread down a line toward where they had finished the underfloor remodel. By Thursday it had gotten so bad we couldn’t open the door all the way. Now… when the LVP broke and boards started coming through I called to speak with Jason at Disaster America and he text me and told me to email him the pics and he’d get back to me… I’ve yet to hear back from anyone. I also called and spoke with Sam who was the foreman of the construction company they used and sent him pics of it. He actually said they’d be here Friday to take a look at it and never showed up and I haven’t been able to contact him again either. *Though Sam did tell me he figured the foundation under the old floor had failed and he was sure that was the problem 🙄 Of note- the foundation was repaired less than a year ago and I have the warranty* So on Friday… With some help, I started ripping up the floor to see what the problem was because obviously it was my problem and no one was going to get back with me on this. It wasn’t the foundation… the hardwood subfloor had buckled because the water obviously went further than they thought {as I’d thought, and even asked them to go further when they were ripping it up and they declined and said they KNEW it wasn’t damaged out that far}. So, enjoy some pics of my Labor Day Weekend as this $1.74 disaster continues to cost me THOUSANDS of dollars to fix still, after it was already “fixed” to the tune of $72,000!

Horrible company, they don’t pay their bills, don’t pay vendor’s or suppliers, Jason Husk is a joke.

In January of this year our water heater located in our attic rusted out and damaged our ceiling and flooded almost half our house. Disaster America responded very quickly, did a thorough inspection of the damages and once approval was given by our insurance adjuster their crew was onsite repairing the damages. This contractor is very professional, paying attention to every little detail. I am extremely pleased with the job they did and would recommend them to anyone in need of this type service.

My house was hit by the tornado in January, 2023. The front of the house was severely damaged. This company was approved by the insurance company to board up the front of my house, which had been blown outward. Two large windows, and their frames were either on the ground or hanging by a few nails. They were broken and the drapes were waving in the breeze. I stayed in the house as long as I could, because I had terrified pets. Cats. With the windows blown out, they could have easily escaped into the neighborhood which was flooded and unsafe. Disaster America was hired to come out and board up the house. They did manage to board up one set of windows in the wee hours of the morning. They put blue tarp over the windows, including the ones that they did not board up. Imagine, the window frames were blown out and only half were boarded up. Only one set of windows was actually boarded up and secure. They left telling me that they had boarded up the entire front of the house, when in fact, only a small portion was actually secured. I left that night to stay at a hotel Thinking everything would be OK the next day. I returned to the house, only to find the blue tarp blowing in the breeze and the window cavities open to the elements! Where are my cats? Are they OK? Fortunately, they were still hiding under, and in the springs in the bed. Needless to say, DA did not complete the project as they said they had… Worst of all, I trusted them. Another company came out and completed the job… For 1/2 the cost!
