I do not recommend this group. Quality of the work was not good. Pain drippings all over the baseboards. The ceiling work was poor; there is an obvious indentation in the ceiling after Kustom completed their “repairs”. The paint job was also poor which is more difficult to capture in photos. When we brought up concerns about some areas, they made excuses about “thats just how construction is”. I’m not really sure what that means. They took a week off in the middle of the project for some reason. My personal roll of painters tape that I keep with my paint supplies in my garage was missing after they were finished with the work. I noticed this after I went to get the tape and paint to touch areas of sloppy paint jobs after Susie (?) came by and said things looked good on their end. With so many positive online reviews, I am wondering if they are genuine based off of our experience with quality of work.

They were outstanding to work with. They properly recommended what to do, received approval from the insurance company, and didn’t take shortcuts. The job required sanding and restaining the downstairs floors plus two stair cases. The staircases and handrails were hand-sanded. Then the balusters and back of the steps were repainted.

Mixed Experience with Kustom US: Excellent Mitigation, Disappointing Rebuild Process I recently had the opportunity to work with Kustom US for a project that required both mitigation and rebuilding services. My experience with the two divisions of the company was strikingly different, leading to a mix of satisfaction and frustration. The mitigation team at Kustom US was exceptional. Their open communication and commitment to the project were commendable. The team members were proactive, ensuring that I was kept in the loop at every stage of the process. Their dedication to delivering quality work within the promised timeline was evident, making this part of the experience stress-free and efficient. However, my experience with the rebuild team, led by Veronica, was starkly different and unfortunately negative. The rebuild process heavily relied on external contractors, with Kustom’s involvement seemingly minimal, as they would only appear to review the project about twice a week. This approach significantly impacted the communication flow, making it challenging to get timely updates or answers to my concerns. Promises made at the beginning of the project, particularly regarding credit reimbursement, were not honored. Despite assurances that Kustom would issue credit to us, this never materialized. After receiving their payment, it felt as though Kustom’s interest in our project waned, leaving us to resolve issues with our insurance on our own. One of the most disappointing aspects was the lack of care taken with our property, especially when removing our hardwood floors. Despite the insurance providing a substantial amount for covering and protecting our belongings during the rebuild, the necessary precautions were not implemented. It was only after significant dust damage occurred that a plastic sheet was placed in the pantry, which was too little, too late. Our hvac system stopped working due to the amount of dust. In summary, while Kustom US’s mitigation team performed admirably, the rebuild process managed by Veronica and her team fell short of expectations. The reliance on external contractors, combined with infrequent oversight and poor communication, led to a frustrating experience. Furthermore, the failure to honor commitments, such as the credit reimbursement, and the disregard for protecting our property, significantly tarnished our overall view of Kustom US. Potential clients might find success with their mitigation services but should be wary of the rebuild process and set clear expectations and agreements upfront. UPDATE: I am now being called for money by this company. This is insane. Similar situation took place when the mitigation team was done with their side. I kept getting calls for payment. They need to review their contract and validate information before calling people!!

We had a horrible disaster 6 weeks after buying our home. Thanks to the team at Kustom we not only were able to return home but we were able to make upgrades to our house. Kustom helped us address the hazards so we could safely return home. They helped us advocate with insurance and coordinate with their team every step from abatement, demolition, and reconstruction. They provided referrals to specialists & always had our back. I cannot recommend them enough! Specifically, recommend Dominic his customer service and attention to detail from start to finish was amazing!
