Buchanan Restoration helped me with smoke odor mitigation after an electronic device with lithium batteries overheated/failed and spewed dark toxic smoke into my home. I am very grateful for their assistance, as areas of my home were uninhabitable due to the unhealthy chemical odor that remained even after the soot was cleaned up. Daniel came to my home the same day that I called. Later that day he provided a recommended plan, information on the air purifying equipment to be used, and the cost for setup/rental. The equipment was set up the next day. Afterward, Daniel recommended painting to complete the restoration, which still needs to be done. Meanwhile, I want to express my appreciation for Daniel’s prompt response and expertise. I would call Buchanan Restoration again if ever needed.

I’m not sure what Buchanan Restoration does to their employees when the company receives a bad review, but I think we’re all about to find out. . I asked a friend if they could help me get in contact with someone to provide a quote and received an affirmative answer. I texted a few pictures to get started. Two days later, I received a call from Daniel. I described my project, noting the current condition is down to studs and I’m looking for a full rebuild: walls, tub, plumbing, tile floor, tile shower backsplash, vanity install and toilet reseat. Looking to get a quote ASAP and work started quickly as well, after a quick 4.5 minute call, I asked Daniel if he’d like to schedule a site visit to take measurements and provide a quote. Daniel told me he would call on Monday to set up a site visit, and we briefly discussed his availability and mine leaving it that Thursday sounded like our best option. On Monday, I received no call. On Tuesday at 4:59pm, I called and was sent to voicemail. I left Daniel a message and relayed that I’d expected a call Monday, but that I was calling to determine a site visit date so I could get a quote for my insurance. During our earlier, 4-minute call, Daniel was insistent that the insurance must have given me a total they will pay for the bathroom repairs and that I share this number with him. My insurance most certainly has not provided an amount and, instead, evaluates the quotes I submit along with my feedback about which contractor I think is most qualified, easiest to work with, and best understands the project. He repeatedly demanded that not how insurance works and I told him it absolutely is. After not hearing back from Daniel, I called the main office(Buchanan Construction ) Thursday morning, now marking one week since our first conversation. After redirecting the receptionist who tried to transfer me to Daniel or their other office where he works to understand I was actually calling to speak with Daniel’s boss or anyone in the company who could tell me whether they wanted to bid my job or not, she took a lengthy message where I answered all her questions about my rebuild and told to wait for a call back. Thursday afternoon at 3:25pm, I received a call, not from the boss or anyone at the office, but Daniel himself. He started by saying he had been so terribly busy he had no time to call on Monday as planned, or return my voicemail Tuesday. He in fact was so busy, he can’t keep up and when I suggested he ask the office for administrative help, he told me there is none. I suggested he have his boss reach out as I know several Administrative Assistants who have worked for global companies before (skilled in HVAC, heavy equipment, permitting, etc) who could submit resumes to the company to fill this absolute need for Daniel. Daniel then went on to tell me that he’d talked to his boss and every one of the company’s subcontractors who all said my location was too far away (35-40min from their office location, a simple 5 miles inside the state line). I clarified that the company works in SC. Daniel replied he has no current SC projects. I tried to clarify if the company does, but Daniel wasn’t sure. Daniel then told me my location is too far from where the subcontractors live, but that seems like a company issue (go where the work is, not turn down work we hire you to do). Further, a travel fee could have been quoted, if any quote was ever going to be provided to me at all. After talking to the owner following my review, it turns out Buchanan Restoration never has been licensed to perform work in SC and had this been relayed by Daniel the entire interaction (and negative review) could have likely been avoided as I wouldn’t have pursued a company not licensed where I live. And as of January 2024, Daniel still uses Buchanan Construction and Restoration interchangeably when communicating with customers leading to unwanted confusion.

We found Buchanan Restoration when we were faced with repairing extensive damage to our second floor bathroom and kitchen ceiling as a result of a slowly leaking phalange. Daniel with Buchanan coordinated all aspects of the repair process, from the damage caused by the water to the tile work in the bathroom. Everyone involved in the process was knowledgeable, professional, and kind.

Buchanan Restoration did a beautiful job on our church basement. We had severe water damage and mold. Buchanan was the only company that responded to us in a timely manner, scheduled an estimate, and communicated with us prior to even beginning the project. Once the project was underway, Daniel and the sub-contractors were knowledgable, diligent, and detail-oriented. We received frequent updates on the project and timely answers to questions. When the inevitable complications arose, they were quick to attend to any issues and communicate the plans. Daniel was respectful of our budget and requests. The final outcome is not only beautiful but functional. The repairs were done properly and we do not have any more water leaking into our basement. We are thankful for Buchanan Restoration and highly recommend their service.

I am giving Buchanan Restoration 5 stars for being friendly and professional. I called them while looking for a contractor; they told me that they don’t perform that kind of work, but they helped me find one who could do it. Someone else would have hung up on me. This shows that they are reliable, helpful, friendly, and professional. I will definitely call them when I need work to be done within their line of business and expertise.

Always answer the phone and very knowledgeable. I have spoken with several other restoration companies before I settled in Buchanan. They seem the most knowledgeable and have fair pricing. Would recommend them to anybody who has been unfortunate enough to suffer water damage to their house

Buchanan Restoration showed up quickly when called, quoted the project. Once I gave the go ahead they came the next day and did all the removal of sheetrock and cleaned up after themselves leaving the space cleaner than before and mold free.

We had a basement wall slowly leaking causing water damage and mold. The guys showed up quickly and got it all cleaned up in a timely manner without having a huge mess. I would definitely recommend.
