Hays and Sons recently did some repair work on our home after a flood. While everyone was very nice to work with and ultimately the work was good, the project management was disorganized and they left us in the lurch several times. Initially they told us that we wouldn’t have to worry about our furniture and that we would still be able to live in the home, with no warning that we would actually have to move a lot of furniture ourselves and that we would not have access to hot water or our stove/oven for roughly two weeks. When the work was complete, they moved our fridge without moving it back to hide the fact that they tore up the vinyl flooring that they had just installed or that they broke the door to the oven. However the quality of the work they did do is great and I am overall happy with the repairs. I would recommend Hays and Sons with some reservations and simply caution people to ask detailed questions before going in and don’t expect everything to go smoothly.

When our basement flooded after a rain storm, I thought we’d have to completely gut it and replace everything. Once I called Hays + Sons, Brandon was here within the hour, and he did an amazing job of explaining the process and reassuring us on what actually needed replaced versus what could be dried in place. Hays & Sons did a fantastic job managing our basement restoration project. Our PM, Kyle, was very friendly, deeply involved throughout the project, and adapted quickly to any changes. He’s great at building close, personal relationships with both his customers and his subcontractors. He was able to bring the project to completion over a week earlier than the initial estimate and kept us informed every step of the way. I would trust Kyle and Hays & Sons to manage any construction/remodel projects in the future.

Hays + Sons has been great to work with! They came in behind another company, picked up the pieces and moved forward identifying the problems then got to work quickly to mitigate and get us ready for the reconstruction side. They have been extremely communicative with us and our insurance adjuster and making adjustments as needed. Extremely professional and kind. Would highly recommend!

Representative from company was timely and efficient. The company was recommended by my insurance adjuster. We didn’t use because they came in $600 higher than the company we chose. Hays + Sons never talked directly to us. They went through the insurance adjuster. Company we choose talked to insurance but also submitted details and item costs to me.

We had a water pipe in our soffit freeze while away and when we returned and turned on water main, discovered we had a break that resulted in some water damage. Crew arrived quickly after being notified by our insurance company and got things dried out and ready for repair. Crew was very thorough and explained plan and process for water damage mitigation and subsequent repair.

Our provider was Kyle S. and he did such a great job in caring for our house after a flood and did everything that he could to ensure that our house was restored and back in working order. He always made sure to communicate every step of the process and gave attention to all the details needed for our old house! He is a genuinely all around good man! I hesitated leaving a review at the beginning. Things didn’t go the way I wanted them to. We had a water heater go out and flood our laundry room and kitchen. They came out and did the water mitigation. Unfortunately, part of it was missed. Another contractor found there was still water saturation. But Hays + Sons came back out and made sure that part was dry. When yet another contractor came out and said there was mold because of the missed water, Hays + Sons made it right. They came back out and treated for mold and stood by their guarantee. It wasn’t a perfect experience, but their customer service is top notch and given the opportunity, they will make things right – to your satisfaction.
