For six months we scouted out a roofing company to do some repairs on our Mediterranean tile roof. I made countless calls out to companies. Only about 10% of them ever showed up and out of those only 5 companies even gave quotes back. Two came in around the same price. Originally we settled on another contractor (because he “specialized” in claims with USAA), but after our insurance company denied the claim and he saw we were now paying cash, he ghosted us. After reviewing quotes from 4-5 months back, I ran across Edel’s estimate who was priced even less. I remembered how they had sent the quote just a few days after coming over, and for months they had kept checking in to see if we were still interested. Price: let me emphasize how reasonable this job was bid out. For the EXACT SAME ITEMIZED quote, we had bids come back asking up to $14-16k. Edel completed all repairs for about $2k. I’m not exposing these numbers to encourage them to bump their rates because after doing my research I found that they were exactly what they should be (our insurance company even came back with similar numbers). We felt that some companies saw dollar signs when they saw our “big” house or bid more because they assumed insurance would get involved. Having a fair price on the front end really helped us decide on a company that carries integrity from the start. The work: The first day their team of professional and courteous contractors came out and repaired one of our two damaged areas. It looks absolutely flawless. The crew did a great job cleaning up when they left. The second area took another afternoon to complete. The crew again was professional, cleaned up their mess (which was more tedious with lots of small debris), and even when they came back out to adjust something in their repair, you wouldn’t have even noticed that they were there. Communications: from the very beginning their staff was always texting, calling, sending over quotes as requested, following up and notifying us of all updates. They even had someone always present that spoke English (which is a plus for me). 100% OUTSTANDING The work was completed last week and even with the rain we had since, we have seen no issues (whereas before, we were collecting rainwater in pans:). Edel mentioned they have a six month guarantee. We will be using them again on other repairs.
