Jamie Merritt, Merritt Roofing, has been the worst experience ever! He does sub par work and then doesn’t want to fix it. He replaced my entire roof in 2020. It was not leaking at the time but had evidence of hail damage. While he was replacing it, the workers were replacing an area below my office and I could see that they were not replacing the underlaymentand was putting shingles on top of bare wood. I opened the window and questioned the guy about it and he told me that ‘the paper isn’t damaged so I’m not replacing it’. Hold up!! I had to get Jamie on the phone to stop the work, pull up that old paper and replace it with new. Now, that’s the kind of work they were doing in the areas that I could see. There’s no telling what they did in the areas that I couldn’t. Fast forward…short while after that my roof is leaking in my loft. Call Jamie who is slow moving to get over here to look at it and he tells me all kinds of lies about the builder…but my roof WASN’T leaking before you replaced it. He tacks down some shingles, so he said, and told me I wouldn’t have anymore issues. I do! It happens again and again. Finally, his worker tells me that they didn’t secure the vent properly and water was getting under it but that he’d be back to fix it. After 5 days he came back and very amateurishly added tar around the edges of the vent. Raggedy! And guess what? It’s leaking again! I called Jamie Monday. He assured me that he’d be out on Thursday. I followed up on Wednesday and again was assured he’d be out the next day. I called. No answer. I text. No response. Needless to say, he was a No Show! Do NOT use this v roofing company for anything other than an example of poor workmanship and poor customer service.

Jamie was referred to us by a reputable person who spoke highly of his work. After several attempts to schedule an inspection of a roof leak at our property, Jamie finally responded and kept the appointment. We were quoted for the minor repair and paid him promptly. After several more days of rain we discovered our roof was not repaired and the leak persisted despite Jamie’s repair. We attempted to contact him again and he said he would come back out to evaluate and complete the repair. 3 different occasions Jamie told us he would be back at our home and never called nor did he even bother to call to let us know he wouldn’t be keeping the appointments. We wasted 2 Saturday’s and a Thursday waiting for Jamie. He’s yet to come back and complete the repair or even respond.

Terrible. The previous owners of our house decided to hire Merritt roofing. A terrible mistake. Not only does the roof suck (no deal placed around the fireplace nor around various pipes that stick out of the roof, which caused multiple leaks) but when contacted to fix their mistake, Jamie doesnt show, call, text. Nothing. Do not hire them. They’ll waste your time and money.
