I’m writing this review to share my experience with Spartan regarding my roof replacement project. This is our first time having our roof done, and somehow expected more involvement after contract signing. Spartan was referred to me by a colleague that used them previously with a great review. I did my own due diligence to checked social media online reviews, and somehow quite disappointed that it didn’t reflect what we experienced. The roof workers didn’t speak any English. We were unable to communicate with them. There weren’t any shirt uniform that would identify them as workers from a specific vendors or Spartan. We might as well have picked up workers from Home Depot. We chose Spartan to have a professional project done. We understand some work are contracted out, but please notify the homeowners what to expect and vendor’s workers to be professional in handling the homeowners property. We are in a suburbs residential area, noise ordinance starts at 7a. Our neighbors work from home and roof workers playing their music is quite distracting along with the roofing noises. After signing the contract, we never heard back from rep to check on the progress or schedule of our project. We did hear from someone from their office via a congratulatory email. Another rep was responsive but we also expected him to deliver on what he said he was going to do (i.e. stopping by to ck our property after old roof tiles were off). We were expecting someone to be onsite that speaks English. We were told he sent someone which we also didn’t meet and see. The staff was accommodating and empathizes with our current issues. This treatment made me feel like this was just a $23K account, and more interested in moving on to the next customer. I expected more professionalism from staff and vendors. After the contract was signed, there was no follow-up, not even a simple update to let us know that they were still looking for a project date. As a project manager myself, I always ensure that everyone is involved and aware of the process to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding. I expected someone (like a project manager or someone who speaks English) to meet us on the day when the workers would arrive. This person would introduce themselves, explain what to expect in the next few days, and so on. However, none of this happened. We were surprised by different people and vehicles arriving at our address, unsure whether they were workers or strangers. There was no communication at all from Spartan or vendors. It would be nice to notify the customer that they subcontract the roofing project to another vendor. Posting Part 2- timeline

Mother-in-law was convinced to put the loan in her name because of her age and when something happens to her the loan is forgiven…that prevented us from claiming our solar on our taxes because she is on ssi and does not file taxes. Spoke to someone at Spartan about this and they don’t understand why the loan went in her name to begin with. As of right now I pay almost 500 a month for the loan and we still have our smud bill because they oversized our array so smud had us opt out of their buy back program. COMPLETE SCAM

Turns out I didn’t need a new roof… this news after being pressured by another company into almost buying one. I greatly appreciate the time and expertise shared with me by Mitch. He inspected my leak problem thoroughly and pointed out where a mortar repair to the chimney would solve the problem. He told me I would probably have another six or so years on it. When the comes I will certainly call Spartan.
