These guys are super honest. If your roof can be repaired or patched they aren’t going to try and sell you on re-roofing the entire house.

If I could give negative stars I would. Last year my husband and I bought a house. The original roofing inspection said we needed a new roof. The seller’s agent asked for another opinion and contacted Gary Fox. He said the roof was fine and just needed minor repairs including fixing the flashing around our skylight. Last year it began raining inside my house. I reached out to Gary Fox about coming back to see if the leaks were part of his repairs because we were assured he guaranteed his work. He said he’d come out and gave us a day but no time. We waited all day. I reached out late afternoon to see if he was still coming. We got a response from someone named Jill who basically said he was too busy and to find someone else. Turns out our roof was in horrible condition. We had the leaking side repaired. Last week the other side of our roof started leaking. The claims adjuster told us the skylight flashing was old and needed to be replaced. Which was part of what Gary said he had done when he “fixed” our roof last year before we moved in. So not only does he not actually repair your roof, he won’t guarantee his work, call you back, or even show up. So now I’m out several thousand dollars because he did a terrible job of inspecting our roof AND didn’t actually do what he said he would.

They do good work for a fair price but the girls in the office make it very hard to schedule. I understand that it has been a busy year but that doesn’t excuse being left hanging for weeks on end without a response and then a rude response when you follow up to schedule again.

Gary was recommended to me by a real estate agent. He seemed like a pleasant person on the phone, quoted a decent price verbally on the first call. I couldn’t schedule an appointment with him as he is very disorganized/flaky. I had called Gary 5 times, and texted him once over a week and was unsuccesful at setting up an appointment. Three of the calls he was not prepaired to set up an appointment kept asking for me to call him back, arranged a call with him yesterday at 9 AM – call went straight into VM with a message stating to not leave a VM and to send an email to his email box. Today I gave him one final call, caught him at lunch – didn’t remember our previous discussions asked me to call him back. Not sure why he doesnt take any initiative in returning calls to more efficently schedule appointments. I gave up on Gary, called another roofing company that had a team out an hour later to fix my roof.

Do not hire them, horrible service. My roof still leaks after they “repaired” it. Have been trying to get them to repair to no avail for over 3 months now. Once you give them your money, they move on. Absolutely zero regards for the customer. It is supposed to have a 2 year warranty too yet they keep ignoring my requests to come and fix. In the meantime, water keeps getting into the walls and causing damage.

I recently purchased a property in area susceptible to rain and snow in the city of Crestline that had roof damage and had been repaired by Gary Fox Roofing prior to closing escrow. I was told the issue was fixed and even given receipts showing the repairs that were made by Gary Fox Roofing. But after the first raini, it was obvious via water damage from the cieling under those exact same areas supposedly repaired, that the area was not appropriately fixed. After reaching out to the company, I was repeatedly told that my issue was “high on Gary’s radar”. I was patient in waiting, but after time passed and being told this repeatedly, noone ever came…not to assess the issue let alone fix it, resulting in a build up of water damage inside my new home when it rained again a week ago. It is obvious that Gary Fox Roofing is just another contractor that goes AWOL once they are paid in full if there are any issues. Beware to anyone thinking about using them and your best bet is to find a different roofer. If anything changes, I will happily update this…but don’t hold your breath.

They might be affordable, but their work is subpar. First, they carelessly put nails through the ceiling of my patio. They came back to fix that. But then, I noticed the ceiling in my living room directly beneath where they completed a leak repair was damaged. Their excuse: the ground must have shifted causing the damage. So, The rest of my 75 year old ceiling is fine — but the exact spot beneath their repair, the damage, that has to be from my whole house shifting? That’s BS. Poor workmanship, poor customer service, and failure to own their mistakes. Look for a different roofer.
