John installed a mini split heat pump into my ADU in 2018. He took care of everything and got the job done in one day. I was so impressed with his professionalism and his knowledge of construction on a whole that I had him come back and install the cabinets in the kitchenette and re-plumb the toilet. I really got value for my money and I will use his service again.

John was the lead workman on two bathroom remodels I had done to my house two years ago. Both jobs required rerouting of the plumbing and addition of a non existing tub. It was a total gut job for both. John was meticulous and methodical about his work and clean-up every day. He took his time to provide quality craftmanship. The tilework on the shower/tub surround and the flooring required accurate/precise measurements and skilled cuts for the pattern to work and when it was completed, I couldn’t have been happier.

My relationship with John began back in 2007 when he rehabilitated my growing family’s first house in Montara. My husband and I had 5 small children in a little house and we finally had enough money to move to a bigger house in Half Moon Bay. After we moved out of the Montara house, John had to rebuild 3 walls of a “bump-out” section of the only bedroom that had deteriorated because of 2 poorly installed windows. The work (which was performed on a house that sat on 3 foot stilts) included reframing, replace both windows, plywood, insulation, dry wall, painting. On the outside he replaced the shingles, taking care to match the existing pattern. John painted the entire interior of the house. John replaced our wood stove fireplace (that was inside the wall) and its chimney/vent system. We could not put the house up for sale until this work was completed and John finished ahead of schedule. Next, John performed some necessary reconfiguration on our newly purchased Half Moon Bay house. This house was sort of a side by side duplex. John busted through a hallway wall to connect the two duplexes and reframe the wall into an entry way. John converted one of the 2 kitchens into a enclosed bedroom while safely retaining, if necessary in the future, access to the drainage system, water connection, gas pipe and 220 electrical outlet. Several years went by and I reconnected with John, now known as JBHammond Co. JBHammond Co started work on one of my bathrooms in my Half Moon Bay house. John and his employees were so pleasant and the workmanship was so outstanding and the scheduling was reasonable and on time and the cost was well within my expectations (all just like before when he worked on Montara house and when I first moved into my Half Moon Bay house) that I ended up having all 3 bathrooms and my kitchen remodeled. I can’t emphasize it enough how perfect John and his employees’ work is. I realize I have built up a relationship with John, but I do not have to babysit his work or his clean up at the end of each day or at the end of the project. That liberates me. As far as a description of the bathroom and kitchen work he performed, he did everything that goes into a typical remodeling job but rather than describe those tasks, more importantly John is a problem solver. Every house has it construction “crazy work” that’s already there and John figures out how to deal with these problems efficiently, effectively, within a cost you can live with and within a way that will pass a city or county inspection. If you are fortunate enough to hire JBHammond Co, do so. It will be a pleasant experience.
