Had our driveway paved in 2022, in 2023 called about a crack. I told Lisa we have had a problem with a crack in the asphalt so called about having them repair it as per their promised warranty. We told them we thought it was from the prep work not being level in that spot. Lisa from Specialty didn’t listen to me when I explained the problem, she wouldn’t send anyone out to look at it and we are only 8 miles away. She said my warranty was void because we didn’t have it sealed by them. We were told a card or email would be sent when it was time to seal the drive, I explained to her that we never received one. She didn’t believe me. We had the driveway sealed by a different professional asphalt company. To me, it seems that she is only interested in more money not the quality of all of their work.

PNW Land Man a month ago

I don’t like leaving negative reviews but I hope that this can save someone else from being taken advantage of by this business. I was referred to Kyle the owner of PNW land man by an acquaintance and he comes across as very friendly and trustworthy. I was originally going to hire him to build a cedar fence, have him do some excavation to fix a drainage issue and prep a pad for a barn I was having built. At this time I was also having 20 trees delivered and wanted to have irrigation put in. I planned on having a professional landscaper do this part and boy do I wish I had stuck to my plan. Kyle offered to plant the trees and do the sprinklers. I was surprised because it never occurred to me to have him do that part of the work. I asked him if he was experienced in that area which he assured me he was. My thought was it would be easier to have one person working on my property but I was wrong. I’ll try to simplify the experience but in the process he broke my brand new electrical conduit to my septic system, only showed up 2-3 days a week so the job took 3 1/2 months. It probably should have taken no more than 6 weeks. Charged me $4k more than what we agreed on for sprinklers because I added 4 sprinklers and supposedly he used stronger pipe so critters couldn’t chew through it. He didn’t compact the pad that the barn was built on so after the first rain it was starting to erode and I had a giant lake next to my house. He attempted to correct his work but I guess realizing that he couldn’t fix it he asked my neighbor who is also an excavator to complete the job. I agreed because I wanted it done right. I ended up paying both of them because he refused to take it off of his portion. He broke my main water line while I was at work and to this day has never told me. I found out from my neighbors later. He is not a licensed Plummer and had no business repairing it without my knowledge or consent. I was so tired of all of this dragging on so I paid for everything and wanted to move on. The sprinklers worked for a few months. I had them professionally blown out by the person he recommended. In the middle of winter I started noticing several of my trees leaning severely. I’m not a tree expert so I wasn’t sure what was going on. Once spring arrived and my other trees started getting buds and leaves I started noticing the “leaning” trees were not doing much of anything. I hired professional landscapers to plant some other trees this year and had them take a look at the trees planted by PNW. They informed me that they were all in trouble because they were planted way too deep and the root ball was rotting away from the trunk. They were planted incorrectly. I had to hire them for another $1k to try to rescue the trees which had cost me over $6k when I purchased them last year. At this time I also had them turn on the sprinklers only to find out that many of them were now leaking at the connection site and no water was getting to the trees. I do realize that sprinklers can sometimes have issues so I attempted to find replacement connections and repair them myself since he had used drip line I didn’t think it would be a big deal. After running all over town trying to find what he had used I was informed by a professional landscape supply that there were several pieces missing and they were not done correctly. Essentially he had used some kind of piping ( not PVC and not a standard size ) I don’t know if it’s poly or electrical conduit. He then ran drip line tube under ground and siliconed it straight into a hole in the pipe. There should have been a sleeve with a riser and a connecting arm for drip line to attach to above ground because drip line tube should never go underground. At this point I contacted Kyle and asked for a $4k refund which he refused and said he’s an honest person who stands behind his work. After asking him how he proposed to fix it he blew me off and I’ve never heard from him again. Im now out well over $10k in repairs and loss and dragging 400 ft of heavy hose around to water after paying him $8500k. 😢

Miles at big timber contractors did an excellent job on building front and back stairs for my new home. He was friendly, easy to work with and his pricing was on point. I would certainly use this company again for my construction contracting needs.

These guys have been absolutely fantastic to work with and I recommend them to everyone I know. I live in the Valley so I know they service the whole area. They were recommended through Holliday (who we also trust) for the install of our tankless water heater; their prices were extremely fair and their crew was great to work with. They have since come to help me with drains, clogs, spigots and leaks — I never have to wait too long to get on their schedule thanks to their awesome employee Jenna and their guys have always been quick, efficient and so, so kind. Most recently, I noticed a leak right above our electric panel — on Friday night of course… I disconnected everything but, since I’m not a plumber, I still wanted to get someone out since even I know that water+electricity=bad. I called all of the local 24hr companies and was either completely ghosted or told this wasn’t an emergency. I called Peck, left a message and they got me on the schedule first thing Monday morning. Never thought I’d reach the stage in life where I have a favorite plumber but here we are. Here’s a picture of one of their guys showing my kitten the ropes lol
