We had a very good experience with PKB. They built a new en-suite and walk in closet from attic space, re-created an existing bathroom into a more efficient en-suite and separate half bath for the hallway, turned a nook into an office and built a new covered patio with fireplace and several bells and whistles out back. Jennie Bridges as finish designer (and her assistant Angie Towne) and Dean Steliotes as our on-site supervisor (and his boss Jake Warchola) were great to work with and made sure everything was done top notch. Jennie has a great eye for finishes and was always willing to go the extra mile to get a new sample and bring it to our house to look at in the space if we still had doubts. Dean spent long days at our house for several months and was very responsive to issues that popped up and we really enjoyed having him around to oversee the project. Henry Longhi was easy to work with as our intake coordinator and helped with initial selections and design that helped kick start the project. And Michelle Sutton as architect drew up great plans that were able to be executed in some challenging spots. I’m a bit of a neat freak and Dean did a great job of keeping walk ways covered and doing their best to contain dust. The cost of the project was pretty reasonable although any change order does get the standard builder markup so I would advise to think about whether the convenience of having PKB do some of the smaller projects while all the major work is being done is worth the extra cost versus finding the contractors yourself once the main project is done. We decided avoiding the hassle of dealing with it ourselves was worth the extra cost. Overall, we are very pleased with the end product and would recommend PKB for your major house renovations.

We gave our trust and $20,000 to Paul. He used it as an opportunity to train his staff. We came to the business with a rough home design and asked for tweaks to the purchasable plan. They spent all the money to produce an ugly mess from scratch instead, at $200,000 over budget. The design took an absurd amount of time because he tried to use an internal designer instead of an architect. Paul’s team also failed to honor the cost control measures in his contract, potentially in material breach. Due to continued errors and excruciatingly slow delivery, we lost trust in PKB’s ability to deliver. Use caution – we wasted $20,000 and 1.5 years. We went with another builder with the same parameters and they have been able to actually achieve what Paul merely promised.

We just completed a home renovation with PKB on our 1960s home including: new front porch, reconfiguring and finishing our basement (including turning an unfinished portion into a new bed / bath, adding laundry room, adding new square footage for mud room), and other upgrades including new siding. The team was very professional and worked diligently to resolve issues as they arose. We are very happy with the quality of the end product and we now have a family home that fits our family’s needs and maximizes our value. We were especially pleased as we came in under our estimated budget! We really enjoyed working with Dan Kenny, our field supervisor – his professionalism, attention to our concerns and great communication were much appreciated. We’d work with the PKB team again!

Paul and his team delivered on a Design-Build project at my home in historic Dilworth, including the renovation of a previously unfinished basement and a previously finished attic. The transformation was incredible and a great experience from beginning to end. The team navigated the whole process with the HDC with great success, communicated effectively throughout construction, and managed amazingly well according to the plans. I highly recommend and would work with them again!

Destroying a 41 year old kitchen and large deck can be intimidating, but when you view the amazing transformation, all the work is worthwhile. We chose to work with PKBuilders. The caliber of the people in their organization, as well as the tradesmen they use for project work was what impressed us, even when inevitable problems arose. There is nothing easy about a major construction project. But knowing that you have a group committed to making you satisfied and loving the end result – that gives you the peace needed to get through a large project. Renovation is hard work. We were so thankful to have workmen whom we trusted, in our home, and the PKB team to stand behind getting the work done. We also learned that the customer can help by knowing beforehand what they want/need and doing some pre-project looking. Today’s choices are limitless, so it can be overwhelming. The PKB team will help you through those choices. We are enjoying and proud of our new spaces!

We engaged Kowalski Builders to convert a screened in porch to a family room, and to build a deck off the room. They were fantastic from start to finish. Very easy to work with, professional, and dependable. I can’t say enough great things about Kowalski Builders and I highly recommend them.

PKB completed a high quality rebuild of our back porch. It involved structural, architectural design and all the finer touches of design and construction. All of their subs are professional and easy to work with. My family is thoroughly impressed with PKB, their staff and their process. I have the unique perspective of a photographer who has shot projects for Paul Kowalski Builders for over 5 years. Here is what I have observed over that time: Communication at all levels, is excellent. I have always been impressed by the attention to detail, the accommodations to the homeowners, and the quick and kind response to any questions or concerns. Very professional, receptive and flexible. Quality is truly unmatched. Paul Kowalski Builders has been in business for a long time. I have seen other build and design companies come and go, but PKB has grown, and it’s clear why: The quality of work on each project is top notch. No cut corners and no photoshopping sloppy grout or caulk on my part. (That’s the photographer talking). When I shoot finished projects, the work is beautiful, and the homeowners are happy to show off the new space. Kindness. I know Paul lives in the community he serves, and he treats his clients like neighbors. He’s very genuine and passionate about what he does, and so are all the project managers at the company. Real people who are respectful of the space they are working in. I’ve worked with many builders. Paul Kowalski Builders is highly recommended!
