I grew up working in the construction industry with my father and eventually took over the family business. My family and I own and operate two local businesses here in Santa Fe, both of which partner regularly with Douglas and his crew. I’ve been doing this awhile and can honestly say DMC is one of the best companies we’ve worked with over the years. They’re craftsmanship is exceptional, but best of all, they are honest, caring, helpful and just really nice people to work with. We love working with them and recommend them highly.

We did an extensive remodeling project with DMC – 2 complete bathroom remodels, a master closet, redefining walls/spaces (creating an en suite guest room from a once separate bedroom/bathroom). Douglas and Aviva Baumann (our project manager) had excellent design suggestions throughout the process. We had some hiccups along the way, but that is to be expected with any major project – especially during Covid when deliveries were so delayed. Whenever there was an issue, Douglas/Aviva dealt with it immediately and fairly. We were very impressed with the quality of work done by the DMC team – everyone was prompt, responsive, professional, and safe. His in house cabinetry and plumbing/electrical guys are great. The framing/drywall team was amazingly fast and complete in their work. And a special note of recognition to Andrew of Counter Intelligence/H and S Craftsmen. He finalized our master closet design and made so many excellent and thoughtful suggestions that really took it to the next level. We are very happy with the final result and would highly recommend DMC.

We couldn’t be happier with Douglas Maahs Construction. We placed our trust in DMC to remodel our outdated 1970’s house and turn it into a contemporary show-stopper. Every aspect of the three-phase project (master bathroom, guest bathroom and kitchen) was completed with perfection, both in an artistic design sense and professional quality of workmanship. DMC listened to our concerns with budget, timeline, design aesthetics and everyday functionality … and DMC surpassed our expectations. Happiness!

Some bright spots, including some good carpentry and tile work. But overall a frustrating, stressful experience with some errors and some sloppy work by subcontractors, including: Failed building department inspection on electrical; a water leak left by the plumbers at the end of the day that could have caused damage overnight if not discovered in time; and a wall built not to planned measurement, resulting in cabinets not fitting properly. Everything looks nice enough, but D. Maahs Construction/DMC (it’s the same company) is not my idea of a high end remodeling company.

I work for a family owned countertop and custom cabinetry company in Santa Fe. We work with DMC on several projects throughout the year. They are very professional and knowledgeable! Their years of experience and close attention to detail always leads to a successful design and finished project. On top of all that, they’re super friendly and easy to work with! We love working with their team and recommend them highly!
