Martin and Jake are the absolute best to work with. They were thorough, efficient, professional and so easy to work with for our basement structural work. They took time to explain what needed to be done, coordinated with different contractors (plumbing, electrical), and were able to complete our project on time, within budged all while we were out of town for just a week(!!). I can’t recommend Great Lakes Builders more – they were a pleasure to work with and we will absolutely be using them again for any future work we need. 5+ stars!

I had an old wood beam in my basement that needed to be replaced for a second floor addition. I had another place talking about putting the new steel beam under or next to my existing beam. I have low ceilings and wanted it to be done correctly. I researched the web for a company that specializes in beam replacements. I saw a few great reviews for them along with pictures of what I was expecting from the job. They recommended a civil engineer to design my beam (we decided to go with a 6″, instead of 8″)and found out the architect didn’t account for the weight of the second floor. This is something I would rather have over built, than under. They secured the home, removed the existing, poured new footings, and installed new columns and beam. I was most surprised of how clean they left the job after. They kept me posted through the whole project.

Martin L. and team are the best when it comes to structural repairs. I am a homeowner and needed new posts on my basement beam. After receiving quotes from multiple contractors, it was clear that Great Lakes not only knew what they were talking about better than anyone else, they were also able to recommend the best course of action which ended up costing less. They completed the work within three days and did an amazing job. They are a family business and experts in their field. Can’t recommend them enough.
