Blue Sky did two remodeling projects for me and if I have a third, I will ask them to do it. Their quote used a comprehensive budgeting system so the costs were pinned down before work began. They let me purchase appliances and aesthetic items so there was no contractor mark-up. Their people are friendly, skilled, and easy to work with. Both projects were done “on time and on budget” with good attention to quality and workmanship. When an item listed on the quote was not needed they adjusted the amount due appropriately.

Left the hose in in winter and the outlet froze, they finally repaired it, but it didn’t work so they sent someone else out and wanted $300.00 dollars.. Does anyone stand behind what they do anymore???

Clown company! **Installers beware** deposits are a foreign concept to these folks.. they will dangle a project in front of you expecting you to show up, finance and invest your own money in a job without any money upfront. I also feel sorry for the homeowners, these are the type of companies you need to avoid.

I hired Blue Sky Remodeling to finish my basement and I couldn’t have picked a better company to work with. From start to finish, they delivered on timelines, promises and more. Adam, Julie and team really create a wonderful experience for their customers providing detailed plans, a calendar and a schedule of work that they kept up with every week of the project. After speaking with several candidate contractors, we selected Blue Sky to finish our basement in Broomfield. One candidate tried to upsell us into a much more elegant and expensive design than we had in mind. One ended discussions saying the project was too small, another backed away saying the project was too big. One stopped answering their phone and another did not seem physically capable of doing the job. One quote multiplied the area by their price per square foot without describing what they would do. By comparison, Blue Sky listened to our needs, reviewed our first draft design, and quickly produced a detailed drawing and itemized quote responsive to our requirements. Blue Sky’s people and sub-contractors are pleasant and respectful. Having a sequence of crews working and raising dust in our personal living space might have felt like an invasion of privacy. Instead there was a spirit of camaraderie seeking the common goal of beautifying our space. Of course we changed our minds about some details as construction progressed, and Blue Sky’s change orders accommodated us at a fair price. My wife was especially pleased with the clean-up crew that arrived at the end of the project. The result was completed on time and on budget. We are pleased with the aesthetics and quality of workmanship. Blue Sky converted a drab concrete cave into living space we will enjoy for years.

I contracted Blue Sky Remodeling and had a good experience with them remodeling my basement. They were professional and stayed within my budget. The job took longer than anticipated as their project manager left the company un-expectantly during construction but Julie from Blue Sky took personal responsibility to see the job through to completion. I appreciated the ownership taken to get the job finished. The quality of the workmanship was good and their sub-contractors were dependable.

Several years ago, Adam and Blue Sky finished our basement. They did a fantastic job then and as a result we hired them again to extend our deck and add another room to our basement. Again, they did a terrific job. The deck is built like a tank and looks great. Adam was key in helping us sort out the design and complete the project. The additional room which is a combination bonus/bedroom with custom furniture and a wall bed looks terrific and the utility of the room is just what we wanted. Adam was key in helping with the design. Blue Sky is a local contractor, they have excellent employees and a staff of excellent project managers. Their a great choice.

Working with Blue Sky was so stressful it has taken me years to be able to circle back and write a review. I honestly tried to “be done” and never think of them again but that didn’t work. I do not want anyone else to go through the stress we did of working with them. Looking at other reviews that are good, I can see it was likely during the same time frame in 2015. Chances are we were the project that suffered so they could work on other projects. They took on more than they could do. During our project we communicated with a project designer who didn’t listen and incorporate our wishes. The level of oversight I had to do was incredible! She also did not communicate to others so I had to repeat myself constantly. Then we were assigned a project manager who was completely uninvolved (example: he called me and asked my thoughts on if a wall could be removed or not, giving me tips on how to figure that out! My reply was “how about you drive here and take a look yourself!” This type of thing happened again and again). They had me log on to a website to ORDER MY OWN supplies to finish part of the job, as in, figure out what pieces were needed for a cabinetry part of the project and how much I needed. When I asked for help, the project lead verbally told me what to order (which was WRONG and I was stuck with an undone project and extra expensive items) Meanwhile They ordered completely wrong items for finishing my stairway (straight pieces for a curved part) then explained that I was supposed to soak the piece myself so they could curve the 5 foot straight piece to fit the job. The electrician no showed 6 times and then tried to show up at 9:00pm to finish the job. We have little kids and it was loud. They had a “communication book” which was completely unused by anyone. I ended up having to do a lot of the project management myself which is not why we hired such a company. When I tried to address it with Julie she showed up at my house crying and asking for sympathy because she was so stressed by the mismanagement of our project and saying they couldn’t get enough good subs to finish jobs. I was overly kind and sympathetic but looking back now I can see she was being manipulative. Each one of the subs that came through told me they would never work with this company again. I have kept in touch with one who was with them for years and he confirmed they are terrible to work for and disorganized and it was his last job. I am sure Adam and Julie will read my review and refute something and try to make it sound like this isn’t how it went down. They are excellent at spinning information. Don’t fall for it and do not go with their company.

Blue Sky Basements finished my Basement in my new home during the summer of 2017. I had three other bids and theirs was by far the most comprehensive. They paid a lot of attention to details and were very professional from the sales process through the basement construction. I am on their reference list and will recommend them to any homeowner for basement finishing. If you get an estimate you will see my name or my wife, on their reference list.
