Dan is the man! Gave us a great price to trim caulk and paint 40ish new windows that I had installed on a 100 year old building in downtown Provo. His crew is awesome and I’ll be having them do more work in the future!

We recently used used Velasco Remodeling to Sheetrock our basement that we are finishing. They were timely to respond to us in the beginning and the quote was fair. There were a few things that bothered us through the process that we felt were not customer oriented and was poor business handlings on their part. The first thing was that there was a couple of days where they were not able to come work on our home, which was fine, but no one communicated with us unless we reached out. The time would frequently be pushed out and, again, no one would communicate the change in time. When we were originally quoted on our texturing, we were quoted to have our basement match our upstairs. The person who came to do the texturing showed me a picture of a job he had done and asked if I liked it. I asked if we could have our texturing match our upstairs. He responded and said our texturing was really thick and the picture he showed me was what they usually do and that it would be pretty close to what we had upstairs. So, I agreed and said do what you normally do if it is pretty close to what we have upstairs. By the end of that day my husband and I went to look at the work and we both looked at each other and said we had hoped they weren’t done because there were some parts that were just totally flat with no texture. When the worker came back the next day, we asked if he could texture some of spots that were just thick and flat. He said it was textured and said we’d see more of the texture once we painted but it really was just thick and flat. He said if we wanted extra texturing it would cost more. He called the owner and the owner said he could do 6 free spots, but if we wanted it done over to have the texturing we asked for would be an extra $800 for labor and materials because I had agreed to the texturing he showed me in the photo. Mind you, I agreed to the texturing because he said it would be close to what we were originally quoted on (I couldn’t tell what the texturing really looked like by the photo). We were not willing to pay the $800 especially when we were quoted on matching our upstairs and only deviated from that because he said it would be close to our upstairs just not as thick. Well, the job was finished and after they left we were just so frustrated that we paid that much money to just not be completely satisfied. We didn’t notice until someone pointed out there were a few places they didn’t texture at all on our drop down ceiling edges and in one of closets. Normally a not textured closet would be fine, but they textured all our other closets per our request and the ceiling can’t go without the texturing so now we are paying for the materials to fix it and not only that, scraping off some of the parts that were just so thick and caked on, but with little texturing. Now that the walls are painted they don’t look any more textured and quite frankly, a lot of places look like there are just scratches on the wall. Before they complete the job they ask us to look over everything and review the work before they are done, but when you’ve already voiced that you are dissatisfied what do you do? So we just let them clean up and finish the job. The one thing my husband told me I had to mention was that they used his tools. We specifically cleaned up our tools and put them in our mechanical closet which they seemed to have no problem helping themselves to even after we put them away again multiple times. As a progressional company you’d expect for them to be prepared with their own tools. All in all, we thought the price was fair, but not cheap. We definitely didn’t get what we paid for in terms of quality as far as the taping and mudding went or customer service.

Excellent contractor. Very detailed oriented. He makes sure everything looks perfect Does wonderful cement work. They are prompt and very nice. Very reasonable priced.

Chris and his guys do great work! Great attention to detail and they even cleaned up what other contractors messed up on. We will definitely have them do more work in the future!
