Owner of the company, Todd, sold us a house in which he failed to properly split the lot before selling the existing home. I signed a purchase agreement with him and his company on a home that was a complete lot and the purchase agreement stated so in the lot survey description for the parcel. He had not properly communicated that he had intended to sell part of the parcel off and split the land so he could then build a house next to the existing lot I was purchasing. He and his realtor demanded we sign an amendment that stated the lot reducing in size by .6 acres without any adjustment in price or compensated damages. After the agreement had been signed he, under his company, demanded we either agree to his amendments or walk away. The biggest issue with this deal was that he had not properly split the lot legally before selling the existing home and it had not been approved by the city or county council. This caused us to wait an addition 2 months in purchasing the home. He and his company again refused to pay for any damages to myself or my fiancée. This act shows the owner and his company do not follow standards and laws for splitting property and have treated us poorly because they had only a business vestment into the home we were purchasing with no care or desire to negotiate a new purchase price after reducing the lot size or for the damages incurred from a hasty lot split that was not done prior to the home being listed.

We worked with Summit on two separate large projects and they are some of the best in the business. Initially, we bought an existing home (3000 sq ft) that Summit completely remodeled. We worked with Todd from the beginning until the end of the remodel. It took about 7 months. The top reasons we think they are the best: 1) Great ideas 2) Awesome quality work 3) Straightforward cost structure 4) Flexibility. More details…They are a partner with you throughout the project. Todd did an excellent job understanding our vision and partnering with us to make it happen. He provided a lot of great suggestions in the beginning and throughout the project. Remarkably, there were no additional surcharges when we made changes. Of course, the changes took extra time, but usually worth it in the end. The remodel was completed several years ago and we have had virtually no quality issues. What a rarity! Recently, we worked with them to re-do our deck and add-on a Screen Porch. Again, Todd and Josh had great ideas and the quality of the work was excellent. In this project, I had a vision for a wide screen without additional posts. It was not an easy request, but Todd found a contractor that was able to make it happen! I would highly recommend Summit to anyone looking to remodel.

I have done several projects with Josh. His attention to detail and quality are impeccable. I have done work for many contractors before and when I build my new home Summit Design is who I will call. They understand a homeowner is building a home to last for many years and not start falling apart by years end. Not only good quality from doors and trim and what the eye can see but also what the eyes can’t. The plumbing, insulation and electric all done by high quality professionals. If you want you home to last Summit Design is the contractor to call.
