I am currently a commercial and residential roofing contractor here in Houston – Redemption Roofing. Prior to this I worked for a company called the blue book of building and construction. I worked with general contractors and subcontractors all over Houston. Let me educate you. There are 2 types of contractors 1) Design Build 2) and Bid Build. Most commercial buildings are Bid Build which means they are designed by an architect and then they bid that design to all the contractors. Which sounds fine but there are ALWAYS errors in the plans missing items – wrong specs – poor designs but I am always told the same thing – bid to the plans we can fix it later and later never comes so we build buildings with design flaws all the time. The other – the one Maco is – is Design Build and that is where cost and design are done at the start of the project. They still bid but if I see a design flaw or an improvement or cost saving option they look at it and revise the plans to incorporate it. It also creates a cleaner budget because the cost over runs tend to come from change orders and all the changes a revisions are typically handled in the design phase. Maco is one of the best Design Build companies in Texas and yes they build all over Texas – they have a very special niche with churches – design – sound systems – etc BUT they also want to meet your pastor years before they have a need . They can provide concept drawings – help with fund raising knowledge – and work to plan phases so each addition feels like a seamless expansion rather than a mindless Hodge podge of buildings and additions. So where it is your next “nothing Bundt cakes” location or just starting to plan the next mega church while you are still meeting in the Pastors garage or anything in between – I highly recommend Duane and Cee get a call – you won’t be disappointed.

Duane is such a pleasure to work with. His professionalism yet ability to relate to his clients shows how much he really loves what he does. Commercial projects are a lengthy process and being in the plumbing industry, I understand the level of patience it takes to get through a project from start to completion.
