Foreman, Jacob Harmon and team did an amazing job on our Pocatello home build. He kept in communication and was accessable thruout the process. The build quality is excellent and we were in our home much faster than expected. Northgate Manager Tai Wesley worked with our Realator Nate to help us pick the best features for our needs. He confirmed choices, relayed rerquests and followed up to ensure a great experiance. Both Tai and Jacob built personal relationships with us and really cared about our needs. Best part is both Tai and Jacob have kept themselves engaged after the home closing. Thank you so much! Brian and Cathy Plowman

My husband previously posted a review which describes in great detail what absolute garbage their contract is so I won’t belabor that point. I do wonder how many homes they have actually built; the number of suspicious Google reviews they have *somehow* accumulated is astounding. Click on some of these 5 star review profiles…numerous young females living in Utah and also giving glowing reviews for the same property management company in California?! Insane. I would be extremely hesitant to do business with a company with such little integrity that they are seeking out dishonest reviews. Seriously, it is time for a long hard look in the mirror if this is the way you conduct yourself in business.

I have seen first hand the work this company puts into both their customer relations and their product. It’s cheap and shady. I would not use Northgate Builders.

I have had to fix some of there work. Home owners are not happy with them, but can’t speak out because they threaten them with law suits because when you sign a contract with them apparently you agree to not post negative reviews. This is evidence enough that you should use anyone else but them.

I’ll start with the caveat that my experience was with the previous iteration of their company, OLO Pocatello. We were initially impressed with the presentation and communication we received from them. Our problems came when we started going through the contract. Quite simply, the contract was the most ridiculous thing I had ever read. There was a non-disparagment clause in it that would forbid us from speaking ill of them or risk losing our home warranty. They wanted us to waive any right to go to court, while at the same time saying we had no right to seek an arbitration of any dispute. The contract wanted us to waive the implied warranty of habitability (the legal implication that the home they built is suitable to live in). They wanted us to waive all other rights to any lawsuit. The supposed basis for waiving any claims was the fact that there was a warranty, but that had numerous exclusions and required a payment of $250 anytime someone was called out, regardless of whether it was our fault or not. So house is built, but shoddy work by a subcontractor means windows are leaking? $250 every time you find something new. And if you publicly say something about your disappointment, they could threaten to void your warranty. We did engage in some talks regarding revisions to the contract, but even though I’m a lawyer (criminal law) I still wondered if if I was going to miss something that would cause us big problems down the road. They said they wanted some guarantee that after the house was built they didn’t have to worry about a lawsuit. I said I wanted a guarantee that there wasn’t anything wrong with the house that I would have to take to court. We couldn’t reach an agreement in the end because I didn’t think we could reconcile those two ideas. I have no idea how good a home they could have built, but we were too scared to find out. I recommend anyone who wants to build with them to read the contract carefully and to possibly consult with a lawyer before signing. Hopefully in rebranding themselves they ditched the contract that they used to use, at a minimum. P.S. I decided to post a more complete review after seeing that they accumulated all five star reviews they have in a four hour timeframe. I really dislike the idea of companies gaming the review process. For example, almost every single review mentions their “attention to detail.”
