We used Roberts to remodel 3 bathrooms after moving to Tallahassee. The work was beautiful, on time and on budget. Everyone that came to the house was very professional, polite and cleaned up behind themselves daily. It was a great experience and we would not only recommend them again but hire them ourselves for future remodeling projects.

Nathan and his team just completed MAJOR work on the exterior of my house. They built a fantastic screened in living room, replaced the roof and did painting and other upgrades. We really could not be happier. It turned out way better than we expected, and every time we ran into a problem in the construction process Nathan figured out a way to resolve it so everything ended up looking (and working) great. This is our second major job with Roberts Construction and we look forward to using again.

Doesn’t show up for appointments, doesn’t return phone calls. Not even the courtesy of a return phone call after standing us up for our appointment, and this was after not one but two delays of over a week in returning my call to set the appointment. NOT professional.

We are so happy with the outcome of renovations that Roberts Construction did to our three bathrooms. New cabinets were beautifully made and installed in two bathrooms. The master bath was a bit more challenging, as we wanted the garden tub removed and turned into a large shower and the existing shower turned into cabinet space. Amazingly, this did not scare Nathan away and it all turned out just as we had envisioned. We would not hesitate to call Nathan again and recommend him to others!

I called this company re: repairs needed due to a fallen tree limb. They didn’t return my call so I called again. They finally left a snooty voicemail in which they advised that they worked only on the north side of TLH. My opinion is obvious from the email I sent to them after receiving the voicemail: My sister told me about the voicemail she received. JSYK, the house is a craftsman construction built by our construction professional father. It’s not some piece of builder-grade junk. I’d put it up against your north side construction any day of the week. Yes, believe it or not, some of us who are fortunate enough to live south of Tallahassee have lovely homes! Honestly, you should put up a note on your website: We don’t want your business unless you live on the posh side of town. This the email I received in reply: I sincerely apologize. We do plenty of work on the south side of Tallahhassee. We have a few jobs going on in the same area (North Tallahhassee) and only 2 crews to service these jobs currently. I stated we did not have to man power to take on a job asap in that area. We are working on getting more employees so we can have more than just a few jobs going at once and get to more jobs quicker. If it wasn’t such an emergency, we would definitely be happy to meet and discuss the project. We are 1 month out just on estimates and several months out on starting new projects. The email stated you needed an estimate asap and we did not want you to waste time waiting on us. Again, I apologize my voicemail was taken out of context. It was not intended that way. Nathan Roberts and his Roberts Constructions services crew did an excellent job. They not only renovated 70% of my house from floor to ceiling, but they also did a very fast smaller job as an emergency when one of our rental units came up with severe termite damage. As a Realtor, I know all too well about builder/contractor horror stories, and was very careful to select some one I trusted and had seen the completed work of. Both jobs were done well and our house renovation, which required FAR more aesthetic consider and design turned out beautifully. Nathan is also VERY responsive, which is refreshing for the builder industry. I have recommended him to several clients.

When we decided to pre-purchase a house that was being renovated by the Roberts, we were quite nervous. Such contracts are typically just a “right of first refusal” when the home is completed, with refusal carrying a severe financial penalty for the buyer (refuser). Lawyers will warn clients against doing this, as a seller can get up to all types of grifty behavior. However, if the purchase works out, the buyer gets to lock in prices, acquire the house before it lists (no bidding wars), and can get into a desired neighborhood that has little to no inventory. We took this risky plunge with Roberts Construction Services (RC), and I am here to report that our experience could not have been better. RC delivered exactly what it said it would, and more, and did so in a timely manner. Nathan Roberts, the principal, handles his clients himself, so when you have a question or problem it goes straight to the top, and he deals with it directly. No run around. No disappearing for weeks at a time. None of the more unfortunate behavior that is often associated with contractors. His crews did an absolutely beautiful job, and if an error was made (which is inevitable in any full home rehab), it was promptly and cheerfully corrected. As our home inspector noted, the work was well-done, using top-quality materials—nowhere did the contractor “cheap out.” A corner was never cut to save a dollar. When it comes to aesthetics and heritage, Nathan is very mindful of these two important issues. He is able to walk the fine line between modernizing a home and keeping its original look and charm. When the home is complete, it still looks to be of the neighborhood. But Nathan has an extra ace-in-the-hole when it comes to exterior and interior design, and that is his wife and business partner, Courtney Roberts. If you have ever been to high-end restaurant and told the waiter you don’t need to see the menu but just want the chef to make you what he or she thinks would be good to eat, and then you get a surprise meal that is totally delicious—this is what we recommend doing when working with Courtney. You don’t need to see the menu—just get out of her way and let her work! You will be thrilled with the results. We say this as artists with forty-five years of professional experience between us. Of course, the Roberts are also happy to work with a very specific design idea, and will help you transform that idea into a reality even better than you imagined. Very importantly in such a large investment, the Roberts were an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. From the minute you meet them it’s obvious they are truly kind, honest, and conscientious people, and they guided us through the normally anxiety-producing process with confidence, good humor, and cheer. If you are ready to pre-purchase or just need a quality builder to upgrade or remodel your existing home, I fully recommend Roberts Construction. Be prepared to have your negative thoughts and perceptions of contractors changed, as you will surely have a productive and anxiety-free relationship and a result that exceeds expectations.
