Starritt Construction did a major remodel of our 50-year-old two-story house in San Jose. Work included new windows, new exterior and interior doors, a newly designed kitchen and three bathrooms, new hardwood floors, additional insulation in both the exterior walls and floors, new stucco siding, major plumbing and electrical upgrades, and more. We also added a laundry room within the existing footprint of the house. Mark and Timer devoted nearly all their time to our project over its six-month duration, so there were no delays due to diverted attention. Both Mark and Timer were very hands-on and did an excellent job of managing both their own employees and the subcontractors who worked on the project. They interfaced well with our designer, their pricing was fair, and they were flexible in accommodating the many changes we made throughout the project. Mark and Timer are easy to work with and are very honest and professional. We are very happy with the result and would highly recommend them to anyone considering a remodel or new construction in the Bay area.

In 1987 we bought our present home, which had just been newly constructed by Starritt Construction. Last year we decided to take the large existing space above the garage (1300 sq feet) and finish it into an apartment (ADU). We decided to go with the Starritt’s since we had been living in their quality construction for the past 33 years. Mark Starritt was contacted and a plan was set. What we ended up with was essentially a totally new home. The structure was here but everything inside the unit had to be constructed and finished. The project has been completed and we are very happy with the results. Mark, Timer and their crew were a pleasure to work with, and they were exceptionally professional. We would highly recommend Starritt Construction for any quality construction project.

My wife and I have used Starritt Construction several times. First to build our home in Morgan Hill. The company did a tremendous job – on budget, despite a couple of plan changes, and on time (less than a year) despite issues with our window supplies. Starritt’s quality was great, workers were respectful and easy to work with. Over the years when we asked Starritt to help use out on several other issues, they quickly responded and completed quality work, again on time and on budget. We have had very positive experiences with Starritt construction and would use and recommend them again. Very good value for the money.

Mark and Timer did an awesome job remodeling our house adding a bath and home office. All their subs were great and attention to detail was beyond what I expected which is rare these days. True craftsmanship!

We hired Starritt Construction to build a single family home. It took 3 years to complete. My recommendation to anyone who is considering hiring Starritt Construction for anything – DON”T. You will receive poor quality work, a lack of communication, work performed and charged without approvals. Starritt began construction prior to permit approvals. This placed us on watch by the city and county through out the project. Starritt refused to keep the site clean and in accordance with site environmental requirements. County warnings were ignored time and time again, resulting in the project being fined several time. Starritt also constantly misinformed us regarding billing. Bills consistently contained errors in charges and contained charges for unapproved work. On October 2, 2020, Santa Clara County Court ruled that Starritt must pay for damages. Starritt Corporation has not responded and is refusing to abide by the court ruling. Again my recommendation is to not use Starritt Construction.
