I was so disappointed with the quality of work and the astronomical budgets proposed by Jates Design Build. I paid $2600 for a single bathroom redesign that looked like something you would buy at Home Depot. They spec’d out custom paint and custom materials and granted I told them go crazy with steam shower etc. the final estimate for a single bathroom was over $90k. For a single bathroom. And if you saw it, you would not be impressed. Absolutely a waste of money and their old school appointment sales tactics are a relic of the past. To be fair – I probably should not have engaged such a firm to remodel a single bathroom but it was still the worst design/estimate I’ve ever seen. If I could get my money back I would…

I can’t backup there work, but customer service is great. I met Antonio at the farmers market in Lincoln Park and was immediately greated with a friendly smile and a feeling of care. It was a pleasure meeting!

I used JATES to remodel my kitchen. Danielle, Marco, Amanda, and the whole JATES team were extremely helpful. They listened and accommodated exactly what I was looking to do with the project and helped design the perfect final result (with renderings along the way to help picture how it would look). Once construction began, the project was smooth and easy (especially for a high-rise building), with the JATES team handling everything. Pricing was fair and transparent. Would definitely recommend for any remodel projects

The whole project was a disappointment and *significantly* behind schedule. Nearly every aspect of the remodel had to be redone because it wasn’t done correctly the first time. Coordination also resulted in delays, for example, the plumber showing up several times and not benign able to do work because what needed to be done before he got there hadn’t happened. *FYI: They deleted my Facebook review and blocked me* It was supposed to take just over a month and it has now been 9 months of construction and over a year since we first contacted Jates to start the project. We repeatedly had “no updates” and no work for days and weeks. They struggled to get a hold of their own “team” members who aren’t actually Jates employees. People wouldn’t show up and we’d have no explanation, and then other times someone would show up without any notice. Most frustratingly, we hired Jates because we were told the project could get done before our baby was born. He is now 5+ months old. No number of apologies will take away the stress and anxiety this project has caused. The initial budget they told us we could do this project for was $30-35,000 and to date we’ve spent more than $45,000.

Jates completely remodeled two bathrooms in our home from concept to final details. They were excellent to work with – fair pricing with no surprises, excellent project management, connections to reliable and helpful suppliers, and very high quality work. The only change orders came at our own request and were seamlessly added to the scope and pricing. They kept our home as clean as is possible in a remodel situation, and all of the tradespeople who came into our home to work were professional and knowledgable. Highly recommend.
