I had an awful experience with Scott, and I’m still dealing with the consequences 2 years later (which is why I’m finally writing this review). I had just moved to the Twin Cities and trusted my realtor’s recommendation of Scott to do the plumbing for a bathroom renovation. He was combative, over-priced, the opposite of transparent, and never finished the job. The parts of the job he did do were done poorly: the water hookup for one of the vanity sinks is wonky and has wildly low water pressure, the hot water heater he installed broke down 6 months later, and the bath/shower faucet and handle are wobbly and not centered. At one point he sub-contracted out an electrician and that electrician said he never got paid by Scott, so the electrician’s path of recourse was to put a lien on my house (I had already paid Scott). It has been a nightmare dealing with all of it, and I learned my lesson to fully vet contractors by reading reviews carefully before hiring anyone. I do not recommend Scott and feel very ripped off as a result of working with him. Avoid this plumber!

Scott and his team are fantastic! He’s super responsive, honest, friendly, professional, and has been able to come out the same day of the call on multiple projects. We’ve used him for various plumbing and other general household repairs and is our go-to call. Highly recommend!

Despicable business practices. Scott Ferrell is dishonest, combative and impossible to work with. He charges an obscene amount, inflates his costs and is unwilling to discuss with the customer. His defense is the same with each customer – your house was the problem before he arrived. Don’t waste your time. There are many honest, hardworking tradesmen in Minneapolis. Avoid this one.

Scott is responsive and problem solving focused. Not looking to just replace and make it a large bill for the homeowner. He looked for ways to solve my water heater issue with out the minimum $1000 charge like the big chains do. He assessed the issue, found the parts, and replaced them – all in the same day! Now we have hot water again!! Appreciate his work and honesty. Recommended highly.

Scott provided outstanding service in getting my broken water heater replaced under warranty after another local firm refused to do so. He came out the next day and took care of everything for me. I’d highly recommend using Lakes Area for anything.

Scott was friendly, helpful, professional, and informative! He has taught us so much in the process of fixing our old home’s plumbing. It was a comfort to work with him knowing that he had lots of experience with the quirks and eccentricities of old homes. He helped us through steps that we could do on our own to save money. We learned so much throughout the whole process! He is trustworthy and I definitely recommend him.
