Great professional service at a fair price. It was easy to schedule, and the woman who answers the phone was extremely kind and helpful. We were able to get an appointment within the week. The plumber arrived on time, was professional, provided me with the cost for service, and was able to complete the job as expected. We would recommend to others And use this company again!

Friendly service, but way over-priced. When I called, they refused to give me an estimate on the phone, and now I know why. The job was to simply re-install my two toilets (that I just had installed a couple of months earlier) as they were removed when the new flooring was put down. They ended up charging me a lot more than the original toilet install job, but I was stuck as I couldn’t be without toilets to wait on another company. Lesson learned. I wouldn’t use this company ever again. I don’t like this kind of business practice. When I called th back before payment to question the pricing.l, they had the nerve to tell me ‘they’re not the cheapest.’ No kidding!!!

I can’t say enough good things about Ackerman plumbing. We had a tricky problem with a shower that was leaking down into our first floor ceiling. It took a little while to troubleshoot the issue (mostly due to the shower manufacturer) but Ackerman kept in touch with us over the whole course of things. Their technicians were all very friendly and prompt and all of their work was top notch. I would recommend them for any plumbing work you need.

After working with Ackerman Plumbing on a couple of projects, I know that I’ve found my go-to plumber! They installed a new water heater and a new shower stall in my bathroom. The shower turned out beautifully! Everyone was very kind and patient when we were working to find the right showerhead. All of the plumbing staff were wonderful to work with. They were extremely positive and upbeat. I could tell that they liked what they were doing and that completing the work correctly was important to them. I highly recommend Ackerman Plumbing.

Came in for 5 minutes, took a look, didnt do anything and still charged. The sewer company they recommend also didn’t do anything and then said we should get a plumber. How is it that both a plumbing and sewer company can’t fix a drain issue? Or at least point us to what the problem might be? I’m very disappointed. At this point I will just fix my kitchen drain problem myself. I don’t recommend them.

I had a great experience overall. They were able to send over a plumber within a couple days after calling. Hugh was very professional, explained issues and remedies thoroughly, and he was quite efficient.

5 stars for Ackerman Plumbing. Communication with Kim was great about the scheduling. Aaron came on time and fixed the issue. The price was reasonable and unfortunately that was not my experience with other companies in Iowa City. He was very professional and after I had a question he came this morning to check. I recommend their services.

Troy and his plumbing partner (sorry – can’t remember his name) did an amazing job, basically, reinstalling a water heater that was shoddily installed when we bought the house and rerouting plumbing for a water softener installation. Very down-to-earth people who took time to explain everything he was going to do. We are very pleased with the quality of their work, their professionalism and the total cost of everything they did. Can’t thank them enough.
