Tried to sell me a $2900 complete sump pump system replacement, when all I needed was a routine backup battery replacement. At the time, I was pretty clueless about how the system worked. Pump was working, but a warning light/sound was on. Plumber looked at it for <3 mins before recommending replacement, with no other options. Another reputable plumber came and said my system was fine, and just needed a fresh backup battery, which I could pick up from a supply house and easily install myself. (I did.) It's tempting to conclude that Brenneco was trying to take advantage of my (then-) ignorance, but maybe he just came to a different conclusion. Either way, I'm glad I called someone else! Since replacing the battery (1 month ago), everything has been back to normal. If he simply came to a different conclusion, some options and/or more detail would have been nice. While he was here, he wouldn't give me a price, saying he needed time to prepare a quote. The "quote" was just a number in a text message. He wouldn't give a breakdown of parts vs labor, saying it was a flat price. In that case, why couldn't he tell me that flat price up front? On the upside: Brenneco got me an appointment quickly, and charged only $48 for the visit. I do appreciate that. Since their average rating is currently 4.9/5.0, I gather other people had much better experiences.

Mike and Max replaced two faucets, one in the shop sink and one in the kitchen sink. Max replaced the drain trap and drain line to the main stack for the shop sink. The job was more involved and took longer than they expected, but they knew what they were doing and it turned out well. We’ve used Brenneco for plumbing jobs for years and highly recommend them.
