I recently had to replace all the old pipes in my house and these guys did an amazing job! Their prices were really good compared to others I checked. They explained everything clearly and really knew what they were doing. The service was quick, the team was super organized and clean, and they left my house spotless. The work turned out excellent. Highly recommend! I’ve already hired them for more projects I need done around the house.

I’m usually not one to write bad reviews (you can look at my profile) but I had a frustrating experience with this plumbing service. I got on the phone with them to book an appointment to fix my Kohler digital shower as it was running lukewarm. I asked the scheduler whether the plumbing service would be able to service my specific kind of shower since it’s non-standard. I shared with them the model number and asked them if they were absolutely sure that they can service showers of this type, and asked multiple times. They *insisted* that they could, even after offering to send pictures and detail on the situation, and were adamant that they could find a solution. The day the plumber arrived, when I described the situation, they said they don’t work on that kind of shower and they even wouldn’t take a step in the home to take a look, until I asked firmly to see if they would at least assess the situation. It was a rude interaction and I was made to feel foolish for even calling them. I would not use this plumbing group.

Booked a three hour window to get a kitchen sink installed. They were late by over an hour, and only came out to give a quote. The plumber asked if I had the old sink to see how that was installed, after much huffing and puffing about how complex this was. It’s a sink for goodness sake that just needs to be connected. He gave me a quote that was three times what I expected, and wouldn’t tell me how many hours at what rate that was based on. “We don’t have hourly rates, we quote per job.” Had it done by another very nice plumber for a third of Genteel’s quote. This had to be the strangest interaction with any service provider I’ve had. Didn’t seem to know what he was doing and then provided a ridiculous quote with no explanation. Or they just try to take advantage of people who don’t have any sense of what’s involved and how long it should take. Either way, fair warning on these guys.

My water bills were skyrocketing. The problem per SF Water Dept. was that my toilets were leaking. I had another company (5 Star) give me an estimate. They said all 3 toilets should be replaced and it would cost over $5,000. Then I had Genteel check out the scene. They did not try to sell me 3 new toilets. They fixed the old ones. For $540. Quite a difference!!! That was a few months ago. The toilets are fine, my water bills are normal-ish. Case closed. 10 stars !

Had a huge project that was overwhelming. I had no idea where to start with a remodel that needed all new plumbing. As soon as I spoke to Genteel I felt at ease. Communication was amazing from getting a quote all the way through completion. I think this is huge and Genteel definitely spend the extra time answering all the questions I had. They also do a good job staying on schedule and setting realistic expectations. As a new homeowner they really put me at ease and I look forward to having sheetrock done and then equipment installation!!

Great experience with Genteel. They had availability immediately. David came up from Bayview on a friday afternoon. David did great! He was able to explain the situation, provide a couple options, and complete the job. Would use them again
