I called requesting emergency service to replace a ~2′ section of leaking galvanized pipe in my garage. I wanted to get a quote on the phone and was told that they needed to come look at it and that charge would be $350, at which point they would provide a quote. I said it shouldn’t take more than an hour for a plumber to replace a straight section of accessible pipe and I’d pay $350 if they could do it immediately. He said they don’t work by the hour, they work by the job. And it would be much more than $350 so we would not likely be able to reach agreement and I should find someone else. This seems crazy to me and I think they are just trying to take advantage of desperate people with water leaks, charging them a large amount for an hour of work. I gave two instead of one star because at least he didn’t try to convince me to pay the $350 and then quote $1K for the hour once they were at my house. Rip off and questionable business practices.

Chris B., the technician that came out was very cordial and professional. I don’t believe what I was charged for was fair. He did spend time on hold waiting to talk to the hot water heater manufacturer, so from a time perspective I understand perhaps the cost. I question whether a seasoned person would have needed to call the manufacturer in the first place to complete checks. I did not move forward with their recommendation to install additional equipment as I wasn’t confident that would solve the issue and did not want to sink further money indefinitely. I am seeking a second opinion. As of now I unfortunately would not recommend Oro. Update to post – I did get another opinion and the issue was with the hot water heater itself. If we went with the recommendation from Oro, then we would have incurred unnecessary cost and not fixed the issue.

Alejandro arrived on time, inspected the job, got a quote then proceeded to do the job. He was well prepared, explained what he was doing, cleared the drain, tested it multiple times, before he cleaned up and carefully put his tools away. I would definitely recommend Alejandro and Oreo Pro for any plumbing emergencies.
