I’ve never before written a review for a company whose services I didn’t end up using, but John and Potomac Pest & Termite Control deserve it. After I noticed that something was eating the wood planks of my outdoor deck, I went searching for exterminators who could assess whether I had a termite resurgence (there was an infestation before I purchased my home), a carpenter bee problem or something else. Most places I contacted wanted to charge a non-refundable $90 or $100 fee just to come look, but Potomac Pest said they’d come out for free. John showed up on time and was courteous and knowledgeable from the start. He took a look and despite the fact that it meant no work for him, he immediately diagnosed the issue as a wood-eating fungus and not a pest problem. He made some suggestions for how I could treat the fungus myself, answered some additional questions, and went to his next job. I feel bad he had to make the trip with no job to show for it, but also know that the next time we do have a pest problem I will be immediately reaching out to John and Potomac Pest. It’s rare to find honest, reliable contractors these days. If you have a pest problem in the DC area, these are your guys. Thank you, Potomac Pest, for the excellent service and integrity.

Highly recommend Potomac Pest, best company I’ve worked with! I got a couple of quotes for a bird nest (sparrows) in our vent and got crazy quotes from other companies. Potomac Pest’s price and customer service was unbeatable. They were incredibly responsive, and scheduled me quickly. Blair and John came out a day later, took care of ALL of our vents, removed the bird nest, cleaned the vents and covered them with bird guards. They were incredibly thorough and checked their work 3 times, and were very patient in explaining exactly what they used and did. Outstanding customer service and friendly team. The value for their service is excellent! I will be using Potomac Pest again!

Scammy business. Charged us 90 dollars and didn’t confirm an appointment or even perform any services. Rang the doorbell and left. Had to call multiple times to get a refund.

I had concern on termite, so I called Potomac Pest & Termite Control for termite inspection and I am able to get appointment the next day. I got email reminder of the time window that John will arrive. John came in just as the promised window. When he stepped in our house, he wore shoe cover to make sure not get dirt in the house. Then he thoroughly checked the place I have concerns, he crawled all the way in the small crawlspace to check with me and then he also looked around the house for me. His answer gives me a relief: my house is good “no termite”. Just as described on website and informed when I made appointment, no cost on termite inspection. He doesn’t charge me anything for inspection and he doesn’t sale me anything after. I am impressed by this company. Also John doesn’t ask for reviews, I feel that this company deserves a good review. I highly recommend this company.

I have been using Potomac Pest and Termite Control now for 4 years for all my rentals and primary residence and they are outstanding! Not only they are proffesional and resonably priced but their services and they way they handle my properties and tenants are unparallel! I highly reccomend them!!

John and his crew are simply the best in the business. Honest, knowledgeable, responsive and will not settle until you are satisfied! The best decision I made was signing up for their quarterly pest control program, we had a huge bug problem and now it is well under control. You won’t regret choosing Potomac Pest Control.
