If you’re going to send your sales people out into the community, door to door, at least teach them to honor no soliciting signs. The gentleman today walked by one on my garage and ignored the one literally right above my doorbell and still wanted to try to solicit me as a client. All while making my dogs go bananas. I politely told him I couldn’t in good faith hire a company who employs people who cannot read or honor signs of no soliciting at people’s homes. That gives me zero faith that they would do a good job when they can’t follow simple written directions. And just for reference, in case he didn’t understand what the words “no soliciting” meant here is a picture of the signs….they are pretty self explanatory.

Here we are in 2024. In my last review of Aptive a few years ago, they were ignoring signs and doing their door-to-door nonsense during the pandemic. I’d love to say that changed with time. Alas, a ring, a knock, and an evening disrupted once again. Aptive door-to-door salesman. Back again tonight like a bad case of scabies even the best pest control team cannot get rid of. Dear Yelp readers, they don’t learn. Maybe they can’t read and they certainly don’t know how to follow the law. So ask yourself this … do I want give a company with dangerous chemicals access to my home when they are incapable of following simple directions? If they see a “no soliciting” sign and ignore it, what else will they ignore? Maybe they do something careless in your home that gets your pets or loved ones sick? Maybe they take your money and then spray water around looking busy while an eventual spider infestation takes over and holds your cat hostage. I dunno. You do what you want with this information. Me? I don’t trust my home and family to people incapable of following even the most simple of instructions.

Missed appointments with no contact. Late appointments although they tell you between 8-5 they allow services until 8pm. You won’t get the same service person every time so results will vary. Some good some bad.

Don’t support a company that engages in shady sales practices. When a home has a no soliciting sign right on the doorbell, these salespeople repeatedly ring the doorbell and knock. I thought there was some emergency outside while I was on a work call. Nope, just trespassers from a company I will never hire. There are ethical companies you should hire instead.

Don’t treat your customer like an idiot! My service was booked for today. They gave me a time frame as 8:00-5:00. I had the whole day waiting at home. During the noon time, I called them and they confirmed their staff would be here from 3:00-6:00pm. They said the technician will notify me before he arrives. But no people contacted me till 5pm. I just checked my email and found an email from them said they could not service my home today. Please value your client’s time. You should text me or call me to cancel the service. It is not acceptable that you cancel the service right after I confirmed it by phone. This is a free service in between the two paid services. As a new customer, I feel like your company will only pay attention to the paid service. The promise of free service is just a joke! I’m so regret that I signed a two year contract with them. We had issue just a week after the initial service and they don’t take care of it in a timely manner. It’s terrible! To be fair, the man who came for our initial service was great!

I was a customer for years but several no shows and ineffective treatments drove my decision to leave for a competing company. The folks that answer the phones are extremely nice but don’t seem to have the managerial to maintain the work load. High turnover on the technician side and I don’t think Aptive has a local management presence. If you can be patient with canceled services and meticulous effort to ensure services are provided wholly, Aptive is fine. If you need a reliable provider, I’d look elsewhere.

Awful company … Rang our doorbell at nine pm and woke up our toddler. What company goes door to door ringing doorbells at NINE PM on a Monday?!? The young woman just said, “that’s when we have to go around because that’s when people are home,” which means Aptive knowingly sends out door-to-door solicitors at nine pm (and later?) on weeknights.
