a day agoI’m a landlord in the Casa View Oaks neighborhood of East Dallas. I juggle my personal life, businesses, tenants, financial stress, and health just like every other living and breathing individual has to. I tend to bring that awareness into my business relationships with great success (usually :/ ). My expectations are high because I work hard. Ultimately, I try to be fair to everyone and handle my part of the endeavor responsibly and intentionally. To me, that means keeping up with contractors, being proactive instead of reactive, clearly communicating expectations, and pushing MY project through by being accessible, and flexible when appropriate. Everyone needs to make a living while managing their time. With that being said, I believe East Dallas Painting “hung- in” extremley well with me and my project. They were communicative, they followed through with everything they said they would do, were very flexible with my other projects and contractors, and did a TON of extra little things for me including painting and drywall tasks outside of the scope of work. Mike is super knowledgeable on paint, and as a designer it was refreshing to wax poetic with someone about Sherwin Williams colors and contractor-based paint formulas not everyone knows about, and how they would perform on my property. I’ve gone on long enough, but I was super impressed with Mike and Jeff (drywall super-hero/fix all dude!). If you can at all relate to my attitudes and ethos on these things, then you’d be lucky to snag this team for your next project. Great job Mike & Jeff! -Kim Joppie

3 weeks agoEast Dallas Painting just finished a job painting and performing some repairs to my detached garage. As originally discussed the work was to take about two days. The job took twelve days from the day they started until the day the job was completed. One day they didn’t get to the job sight until around 4:00 and left about half an hour later. I don’t know why they even bothered to make the trip for half an hours work. It isn’t clear what took so long but to be honest there were some delays because of weather. Even considering the weather it could have been completed at least four days earlier. The written estimate submitted by the painter calls for SW super paint which retails at about $76.00. It was on sale at $53.00 but when they completed the job they left the remaining paint in a Behr Premium Plus can which retails for about $30.00. It appears they used a lesser quality paint. At the beginning when the job was being estimated it was clear that some of the wood needed to be replaced which was done but one piece of trim at the bottom of the north west side corner of the building was missing. It seems that even a cursory glance would have seen this and about 18″ of wood trim would have been replaced. That wasn’t specifically mentioned in the estimate but the contractor should have at least mentioned it and if necessary adjusted the price of the written estimate. Communications could have been improved. Between when the job was started and when the job was completed I often went several days without being contacted by East Dallas Painting. One day I got a text message after noon saying they wouldn’t be out that day. In fairness to East Dallas Painting I was satisfied with the work (except for the trim). I do believe the work was satisfactory. I may use them again.

10 months agoWe set the appointment but they never showed or answered the phone the day of the appointment. Didn’t even call the day after to inform what happen.

a year agoMike and Ian have completed two projects for us and we have been so happy with the finished products. They removed paneling, re-textured, and painted the walls in our media room and most recently, painted our office cabinets. They are both such nice, reliable people and do great work. Would highly recommend!

2 years agoWe used East Dallas Painting Company to paint the exterior of our brick house. They did an excellent job and we were really happy with the result from the first moment we saw it. Mike and his team were great to work with from the first consultation we had- very professional, knowledgable, and skilled. His team took special care to prep everything and they truly went above and beyond – power washing, prepping the brick, talking us through the process and decisions to make, even moving some small obstacles by the house. They were on time and were not disruptive to our daily lives at all (even considering the fact we had a newborn!). I was impressed with the fact that when they left for the day, they neatly stacked the paint/equipment in an inconspicuous place and picked up everything- this makes a huge difference! Mike’s crew was very nice and easy-going- they were also experts at what they do. The house looks great and we felt like we got a great value for all the work they put in. I have already recommended this company to my friends and would highly recommend East Dallas Painting Company to anyone who has painting needs.

2 years agoThey came for an inspection and then strait up ghosted us. I would expect a company to at least have the common decency to tell you they are too busy for the project, rather than wasting everyone’s time.
