Outdoor Living Spaces, LLC 4 years agoAfter we moved into a home with a heavily wooded lot, we wanted to improve the landscaping, add color but preserve the natural character. I looked around and interviewed several landscapers/designers. Many were great with beds, formal designs, and the kind of landscaping that seems to be typical in suburban neighborhoods, but that isn’t really what I wanted. I wanted something that was planned, but that fit with the setting – a more natural expression. Jock immediately understood what I was looking for and even before putting pen to paper saw – an pointed out – visual focal points or subtle ways to reshape a border or contour to enhance the result. He developed and revised a plan and over the last 3 years has worked with us to identify and refine plant selection, staged the installation to coincide with my budget, helped us understand how to maintain our new plants, and added more or different plants as needed. In working together, he taught us a little bit about how to think like a designer and understand what works and why and he paid attention to our feedback and learned what we liked/wanted. This year, the plants have all had enough time to establish and flourish (and those that didn’t were replaced) and the property looks fantastic. We have relied on Jock, and the small handful of guys he brings in when needed, to guide us and the results are beyond what we ever envisioned, but exactly what we were looking for. Thank you Jock Lewendon! I cannot recommend him more highly.
