I would have given less than one star if possible based on the fact that he did significant damage to my property. Because he would not co-operate and work with me to get it repaired properly and up to code, I had no choice but to take it take the case to small claims court. He was a no show and after submitting all my evidence, pics, statements etc , the judge made a ruling against him for the full amount submitted. That was approximately 5+ years ago and he still hasn’t paid a cent of it. He could have used his insurance, as he stated he was “fully insured” and avoided the court situation, but he choose not to do that. Bad experience and so much unnecessary hassle because he refused to make a claim on his insurance. The work he did was ok, until tree he was cutting down hit the side of the house. He just needed to take responsibility for this accident, file a claim with the insurance he advertises he has, and be done with it. Due to this reason I would not recommend him. Just recently a call was made to my attorney to finally pay me, but again he changed his mind. No one needs this kind of hassle I don’t care how ok his work is. I would recommend, which is what I now do, to physically see the contractor’s stated insurance policy, make sure it is current and he is fully covered. Protect yourself and your property. Small claims court is made for these types of disputes, but is dependent on two honest, reliable, responsible parties involved in the case. Ruling has been ignored by Mr. Allen and to current day no payment made. .

I recently started trying to bring the outside of my home back to life and realized that I had no idea what I was doing and needed to call an arborist. Mr. Allen was the first person I googled who answered the phone and he agreed to come out the next week and give me advice. When he came, he spoke to me for about an hour and I took almost an entire page worth of notes on all my trees and shrubs and how to take care of them. Being a single mom, I am used to people trying to exacerbate problems with my home in order to gain business and money from me, but Mr. Allen had zero expectations and was simply there to teach me. It was only after I had a general idea of the work that I needed to do to bring my trees back to their full beauty that I asked him if he would be able to help with some of the parts I knew I couldn’t do like trimming the tops and properly fertilizing. He gave me a quote that day and when his team came to conduct the service I could not believe how alive my yard felt again. They did an amazing job, cleaned everything up and even went so far as to trim a few extra shrubs I had that were extremely overgrown. I don’t often write reviews but I wanted to share because I truly feel like this is one of the most knowledgeable and genuine people you will ever get to work with. I absolutely recommend Allen’s Tree Care for your tree needs!
