After the recent derecho event in Iowa City, 30 feet of the main trunk stem of a maple in our backyard wedged between two birches closer to the house as it fell before ending up resting on our roof. It was still attached to the maple about 15 feet above the ground. We were lucky there was no penetration by any branches. I contacted General Tree Services and the next morning Mick showed up to look the situation over. Mick and Junior came back about 1 PM with their bucket and wood chipper. In less than three hours and with some great rope work, the tree was completely removed with no damage to the house, the wood was chipped, and the area was cleaned perfectly. My wife and I watched the whole operation and were duly impressed with both their speed and care. I heartedly recommend General Tree Service for their abilities and their fair pricing. They are the best! Thanks again Mick and Junior!

My husband and I have used General Tree Service for a number of trees that had to be removed for a garage addition. Timely, efficient, and with a great work ethic, Mick and his crew find the best way to get the job done for the best price. He has such good suggestions, and was able to spot a neighbor’s tree that was leaning over their house at a dangerous angle. Because his equipment was already there, he was able to give the young couple a real deal on removing their tree. Mick is not one to be on his phone during a work day (he’s too busy working), so call the General Tree number and let his wife know if you need him. Oh, and he does snow plowing in the winter, and does a fine job. We highly recommend General Tree Service.

Apparently they don’t need the business I have tried 2 years in a row to have them come out a give me a quote on purning trees. they never showed up or called me I don’t know why I even bothered with these joker’s Well if this was the company in tiffin a couple years ago I have the right company !

I needed to have a large tree removed from my back yard in the middle of winter. I contacted Mick at General Tree who did an on-site assessment of the safest, most efficient way to remove the tree. Mick has a crew that is skilled and the equipment needed to do difficult jobs like mine. His hard-working crew finished the job in one day and cleaned the site before leaving. He also returned in the spring to haul black dirt to level the area where the stump had been removed. I would highly recommend this professional service.

General Tree did a great job for us trimming our trees. Mick was very knowledgeable and provided an accurate estimate and completed the work (and cleanup) under some difficult conditions, including cold weather and a fenced-in back yard in a timely manner.

In the past 2 years we’ve used General Tree Service on 3 separate occasions. Once to remove a huge dead maple, once to remove a tree that fell on our roof during a storm, and another time to trim our large oak tree. Each time we called, or emailed, we had a response almost immediately, and an estimate within 48 hours. Other companies we’ve contacted have put us on extremely long waitlists just to get an estimate, or have not gotten back to us at all. The quotes are fair and the actual costs have always matched. We will continue to use Mick and his team because their responsiveness and communication are great. The work happens timely and efficiently, and they always leave my yard in a great state. I highly recommend their services.
