3 years of hell, a joke of a company and it makes me sick that center point feels this is acceptable. Tore up my property left a mess and botched my tree. They are not welcome on my property at all, use the easements fine w/e but set one foot on my property and I will press charges for trespassing.

**** came back to edit review to say this company still sucks. They came back and left massive ruts in my yard and got their big truck hung up in my yard, didn’t inform me, left without saying a word. *************THIS COMPANY SUCKS************** Centerpoint had this company clear trees around the electric wires on my neighbors property and they put 100% of the stuff they cut up in my yard by the ditch when it wasn’t even from my property to begin with. I asked when they were going to clean this up and they said they didn’t speak English. So now I’m stuck with a huge mess to clean up and it wasn’t even something to do with me. Awful company.

I own some land on Strueh Hendricks road in addition to my residence, not only did they go way beyond the right of way to cut down oaks and poplar trees I had been growing for 15 years but they just left all the trash and limbs to be my problem. Then they cut a cedar tree and threw it about 75 feet into my property and just left it. You will be hearing from me on Monday.

Fill disclaimer: I have never hired this company to do any work for me personally, and after dealing with them twice over the last month, I would never do business with them. A pole for neighbor was set to be replaced by Centerpoint. The Halter Group was hired by the company to clear trees for the work that needed to be done. The first day Halter was out, they drove through my yard and made ruts. No big deal…I understand that when a job needs to get done, you might make ruts getting to where you need to go on the property. My problem with them is that they cut a couple trees down, branches, and vines. Then they just left them in very large pieces. I contacted Halter about this so they sent some guys out the next morning to cut the trees into smaller, more manageable logs. I was not home at the time, but my wife was. She went out to talk to them and asked them what they planned on doing with the mess they made in our yard with the logs. They asked her, “Can’t your husband take care of them? You guys look like you have plenty of places to burn the stuff.” That’s a terrible way to treat a person who never even hired you to so work. So I took care of their mess. I came home yesterday, and the new pole has been installed. Now I have a big dirt and concrete mess to take care of. Avoid this company like the plague.

Wow, horrible. While doing work for CenterPoint Energy, they unnecessarily blocked our driveway for days, left ruts, trash, and limbs, without cleaning any of it up. Sloppy and unprofessional.

Broke my fence in 2 places. They won’t respond to emails and haven’t been able to get ahold on the phone they are always closed. They get away with everything because of their city contract. I bet there are other tree services that would love an opportunity at that contract that would do a better job.

Very disrespectful company. Mother in law passed away. Funeral procession going down the road and the only vehicle that didn’t pull over was a Halter Truck. They need to teach their people to be respectful.

Halter knocked on our door in 2020 to sign a waiver to come on our property to cut down a dead tree on the easement for Vectren ( now CenterPoint). In the next couple years and several phone calls to Halter and Vectren, they had been out a dozen times looking at it and attempting to trim it.We g go ad called other tree services about cutting it down. Finally, in 2023, after enough calls to CenterPoint, they managed to get a truck back to cut it down. We knew they were only going to cut off branches and leave the trunk. They cut all the branches off and left. We thought they would come back later and clean it up. After a week went by we called them to ask when they would be back to clean it up. They said they were not responsible for the clean up and it was our problem. From what we were told Halter has a lifetime contract with CenterPoint.
