What was quoted as a 2 day project to install sod and a French drain took nearly 2 weeks. Delays included workmen walking off the job, claiming Peterson didn’t agree to lay sod in the front yard, digging a trench in the back yard and leaving it open for 2 days, and burying all our sprinkler heads. When it was finally completed, I was presented an invoice, which I asked for a discount on (nothing unreasonable, just $26 for the plywood I bought to cover the open trench in our yard and a request not to charge an additional fee so I could pay with a credit card). They agreed to the discount. I got an updated invoice 2 days later and immediately called to pay, but J said their credit card machine was broken. I called 3 days later, machine was still broken. Finally a week later J called and said they could process credit cards, and said I had 3 outstanding invoices totaling nearly $10,000 (the agreed to price was just over $5,000). I said this was wrong, and J stated he would figure it out and call me back. I then emailed the salesmen and he replied with “…We will call you when we get our sh*t together.” 6 weeks later, J finally called back. I returned the call after they were closed, but emailed the salesmen to let him know I was available the next day. No calls. The day after that I got a call threatening me with collections if I didn’t pay up – and quoting the wrong amount. Again. I called back and spoke with J who denied ever speaking to me and stated he’d been calling and emailing for 6 weeks. At this point I lost it. I said if he could produce an invoice for the agreed upon amount, I would pay it immediately, but not a dime more. We hung up and he called back 30 minutes later and said they would accept the original agreed upon amount. I requested to pay online so I could see the invoice amount (not trusting them) and he agreed. 2 hours later the invoice arrived, and I paid it within 5 minutes. The work itself was good – I have 2 dead spots in the back yard where the sod didn’t take but I’ll find a more reputable company to fix, and I was promised a bag of weed & feed (which the salesman has since denied), but whatever. I’m just glad it’s done. I’m sure they do ok work for big projects, but little single family homes are an afterthought. Work with them at your own risk.

Loaded work truck with dump trailer almost caused an accident at 287 South exit by cutting off the entrance ramp instead of just missing a single exit and taking the next one. Very poor driving.
