JH Garden designs installed a beautiful paver driveway, an attractive stone walkway, an impressive stone pillar for our house number, and lighting that gently bathes the driveway and pillar with soft light. Mr. Hutson artfully designed it and modified the design after discussion with us of each detail. He installed it competently while keeping us informed all along of the progress toward completion. His pride of craftsmanship, his dedication to customer satisfaction, and his combination of creativity and practicality cause us to recommend him highly.

It’s now been two months since JH Garden Designs completed our deck, and we are extremely pleased with the process and end result. Joseph was great to work with, receptive to ideas I’d throw at him, and always a positive attitude. He scoped then job to fit our budget—very fair on his pricing—which really helped us out too. He worked with us on the schedule when the weather didn’t cooperate many days and was quick to respond to my questions. Thanks to his hard work, we have had a fun, backyard activity to enjoy all summer while everything has been closed around us. The deck looks as good as the day it was finished, and I would highly recommend JH Gardens Design for this type of work. I really like the hardscape projects he’s done for other clients, and I have other ideas around the yard that I’ll be calling him about because of that and our overall fantastic experience.

I put out an all-call for a good hardscape designer to help me take my teeny tiny cracked up flagstone patio and improve and enlarge it. Joey Hutson came highly recommended by multiple neighbors on NextDoor and he responded quickly to my request for a quote. He listened and came back in less than two weeks with a design that incorporated everything I wanted. Additionally, Joey enhanced the design with wonderful ideas of his own. He completed the work in a timely, affordable, and professional fashion. I can’t wait for longer days and warmer weather to start enjoying my “garden terrace”.

Before starting a new landscaping project in our front yard, we had several estimates and designs. We decided to go with Joey at JH Garden Designs and are very pleased that we did! Great design and good value. Very professional from initial estimate/design to completion of project. Joey provided a professional design and was able to incorporate our preferences for plants and hardscape materials. He designed a rock path and helped naturally guide water away from the house. The plants and color look great!

Joseph gave me a fair quote for cleaning up our yard, pruning, weeding, & spreading mulch. He and his associate, Tyler, did a great job. On time, diligent, friendly, and I’ll definitely use their services again!

I would rate his work with many more stars if possible. My wife and I are *delighted* with all his projects he has created for us. Last year he built a large patio with pavers and Hokie stone which was the centerpiece of our outdoor activities last year. This year, after we finished the play structure for our granddaughter, we asked him to sod the back yard. Due to neglect over the years, it had become overgrown with confederate violets and buttercups. He thoroughly prepared the ground (to preclude weed and grass regrowth) and laid five pallets of sod. After a couple of weeks of watering, it looks *spectacular*. He came by frequently to check on it and give me advice to save water and better cover the outlier areas. With this project we think he has solved our water drainage problems, which is a huge relief. We are so pleased that we’ve asked him to cover part of the front yard with flagstones and grass and sod the rest. We’ve also asked him to mulch the front yard around the trees and bushes.. When all is said and done, we’ll have a yard worthy of an excellent golf course. In summary, we are beyond delighted with his creativity, his willingness to think outside the box for very creative designs and solutions to pesky issues and being willing to work with us as our plans changed.
