4 months agoSara from Planted Green has been the mastermind behind the revitalization of Gross Park, a two block boulevard-stye park in Lakeview. She has done everything from designing and mapping our native habitat spaces to helping us plan for the park’s future. Because of her guidance and support, our neighbor-nurtured park is a model greenspace that explains the possibility of native plants in a more formal urban habitat with quiet and compelling beauty. Gross Park is also, thanks to Sara’s planning and stewardship, now a National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat and an official Monarch Waystation. And it is not only neighbors and pedestrians that appreciate the park’s evolving beauty – now in our second season of Planted Green stewardship, every month our plantings have evolved and thrived under her vision and careful guidance the increase in butterflies, hawks, birds, preschoolers and other wild beings have also given testament to her skill and commitment. As a member of the Gross Park Neighbors Foundation, I recommend Planted Green without reservation and welcome you to our park on the 1700 block of Henderson if you would like to see any of her work in action.

10 months agoWe have a small pocket prairie garden designed by Sara and we were so pleased that we doubled the garden bed the next year. They are responsive, made excellent selections based on the site and our desire to attract wildlife while looking tidy AND having interest in all seasons. That’s a tall order and she nailed it!

2 years agoSara designed a beautiful landscape for the front of our city house using native woodland plants that require minimal interaction. They have a great mix of color, height and are also good for the environment. She is an expert in this area and was helpful explaining things to a novice like me. She is busy, so we had to schedule a few months out — but she did install on-schedule and on-budget. I will definitely use Planted Green again for future projects (and my neighbor already used Planted Green as well).
