I wish I could have given this business 5 stars. Chad really seemed genuine, so in addition to the grading, sodding, island work, that I had done at my home last October, I also contracted him to do the Christmas decorating at my workplace. I had to wait until the next summer when the grass turned green to see the quality of the sodding. I am very happy with the sodding and the grading. However, I found when the pine straw in our back island started thinning out, I found that scraps of sod were thrown all in my island. Some of the sod took ground. This was a mess to clean up. They did a great job on the decorating of my workplace, but it was almost February before they came in to pick up the items to store. We had to take the trees down ourselves and store them in the stairwell until he had time to get by here to pick them up. The lighting on the outside trees was never removed either. He did apologize and promise to give us a discount on the Christmas decorating for this year and said he would get us on the list early for 2022. Well I have emailed and texted him for the past month and have had no response. I hope that he reads this reviews and can see the disappointment in his service. He still has our trees and wreath that we paid for and I hope we will get them back.

I wish I had been able to locate this business. I’m a researcher and I still couldn’t! I searched Facebook and Yelp. I searched the BBB website. The number on Google is different from the number on the website. The number on the website returned a Verizon automated message saying that number is out of service. The phone number on Google connected to a woman who said that number is not this business. I then looked on Nextdoor where they were recommended and still no contact info. I guess they’re doing well enough that they don’t need a web/social media presence, which is good, because they’re like ghosts! I even searched the address they have listed and found that it’s a warehouse/office space building. Multiple businesses came up that use that address but not their business. I searched so extensively because there aren’t a lot of businesses in North Atlanta that do only small grading jobs — for a single homeowner. Other grading companies are either leveling and grading for major construction, like a home, extension, or deck, or they’re full-service landscape companies not interested in only grading. They want to grade and follow up with sod or a retaining wall, drainage, etc. We only need grading for about 2,000 sq ft yard. Another reviewer had the same problem locating this company 9 months ago. It’s too bad that they haven’t been able to correct their contact info in one way or another. It’s also possible they’re no longer is business.

Chad and his team are seriously incredible! From the very start of our first contact with them, to sharing our vision of what we wanted with our home project, they were ON IT. Not only did they make our dream come to life with our home, they went above and BEYOND anything we could even imagine to make it amazing! Very professional team, quick to respond during the entire process and here to help make your wishes happen without having to break the bank! Will definitely be using them in future projects!

Updated: So it turns out that there were some issues between myself, Google, the website, and Expansion. Google had wrong information, the website contact info was outdated, and I didn’t know how to reach out to the company. Today, I was finally able to talk to the company and had a good conversation with the owner about where the issue was. Chad was polite and everything smoothed over. Hopefully we will be able to work together on my home project. Original: Attempted to call the phone number on this Google listing and someone else answered saying it was the wrong number. So I called the phone number on their website and the recording (which didn’t list a company name) said the mailbox was full and hung up. I guess they don’t respond.

This company and Mr Chad were very professional and also completed the job early. They also pulled permit for me and made sure everything was up to code. Great Job!!!

Expansion Grading was wonderful! Highly recommend! Ask for Chad he was so easy and understanding and I couldn’t be more pleased with the way it turned out and his expertise.

We have used Chad and Expansion Grading for multiple projects throughout the years, residential and commercial properties. His attention to detail and workmanship stand alone in the landscaping, hardscaping and over all design process. Chad always gives a good price and delivers on promises with no unexpected surprises that so many other contractors do. We will continue to use Expansion Grading going forward and see no reason to look elsewhere. Great Company and highly recommend!

We paid Chad Kaney, DBA Expansion Grading, $22,000 to build a deck at our home. He and his crew left the project half finished and refused to return our money and our phone calls. My wife and I were left to clean up the mess they left, including over two dozen empty beer bottles. We’re in the process of filing a small claims suit to get our money back.
