Payment was made in a timely fashion. The second half of the payment was not due to the sudden cancelation of contract by Dan the owner of Black Forest. Also, an additional email and call were made again on 2/1/23 to attempt to rectify. Still no response. How he is okay with treating anyone this way is beyond me.

DO NOT GIVE HIM YOUR MONEY, HE WILL TAKE IT AND NOT COMPLETE THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!! When first speaking and meeting Dan we were over the moon! He seemed like just the fit to design our back yard adventures. We paid him half of the total as he began doing the work. Shortly after he began requesting the other half before the work was completed! I listened to my instincts and insisted work must be done prior. I received an email shortly after stating he was NOT going to continue the work and that the job was not done in a timely manor and worst of all that he had OTHER OBLIGATIONS!!! I tried calling, email etc to rectify the situation.. STILL NO PHONE CALL! I have no idea who he paid for the other reviews but frankly he is not a man of integrity.

Dan was a pleasure to work with. We bought a house in 2021 and wanted to redesign the front and back yards. They’re both relatively small, but he did a great job thinking them through. He was big on hearing our feedback and ensuring we were happy with his ideas. We made some tweaks here and there which he was happy to do. I found him very responsive. We were really pleased with what we got from him for the money. He even provided hard copies of the design, which makes it easy to plan with.

Worked with Dan on our new homes landscaping plans. We love the plans and all the attention to detail. Dan really thought through our wants and needs and designed a beautiful yard. He even suggested plants that would provide beautiful views year round. The plan was submitted with color photos of all his recommended plants so we can envision what it would look like. Very pleased with the outcome of the plans and we are currently moving forward with executing. We have recommended him before and will do so again for sure.

We needed to update our front landscaping and Dan designed a beautiful front yard for us. He incorporated our ideas but his professional perspective and insight really made it look great. He even shared pictures of the plants in different seasons, to give perspective of how pretty some plants can be in fall and winter. We replaced the concrete with beautiful pavers and really increased the curb appeal. Great to work with and would highly recommend his company.

I met Dan several years ago when he did a landscape design for my yard. He was prompt, very courteous and professional, and he truly listened to what I was wanting. A few days later, he came back with exactly what I was looking for: a detailed plan for landscaping my yard that included even more than I expected. The price was more than fair, and I have been recommending Black Forest Landscape Design to everyone I can ever since.
