a month agoIt’s security. It’s important. It’s your personal safety. Why would you buy this toy when Simplisafe’s systems are demonstrably better in every respect?

3 years agoModerately pleased with my bare-bones Scout system. 1. Nice to see that the motion sensors also display temperature; this solves an issue for me: monitoring my furnace operation during absences. 2. The keypad has not worked well. It took a reset to finally get it to work (and help from a Tech, since the written documentation on the keypad is non-existent). 3. But the keypad batteries have already died in my 10 degree Minnesota winter; only lasted two weeks. I expected quite abit more.

3 years agoI don’t typically write reviews, we have had the system for about 5 years. The original version was effective, but “chirps” were delayed. Version 2 is solid, easy to install and effortless to use. This review is mainly about Scout’s support team, if I could rate it a 10 I would. They are quick, respectful of time and easy to work with. We have all dealt with technology support teams and its typically dreadful. All technology will have “glitches”, but you want confidence the company will stand behind it’s product and support you no matter what. I have confidence in telling you Scout provides a great product and BEST-IN-CLASS support team.

4 years agoI am very pleased with my Scout system. It was simple to set up and works well. I like the flexibility to be able to set up the system the way I want and the ability to change things when I want. Their customer service is awesome! I highly recommend Scout.

4 years agoI had Scout Alarm Security Cameras install 8 cameras at my house. They did a great job and George was very easy to work with. They show up on time worked all day and cleaned up. System works great and no issues. I would recommend Scout Alarm Security Cameras for all of your installs.

4 years agoScout has been the perfect home security system for us. We love the flexibility in choosing what sensors we need, and the ability to change our system over time. The design of their products has been great and the system has worked without skipping a beat. Our experience with their support team has been nothing but positive. Would highly recommend!

4 years agoI’ve been using Scout since backing their original fundraiser and have been very happy ever since. This is one of the most affordable, flexible security systems out there. Perfect for apartment dwellers, especially if you move often since it’s easy to take with you. Be sure to invest in rechargeable batteries or it will get expensive with disposables! Also, beware of how the monitoring service works with your local law enforcement before subscribing to the top tier. In my city, the cops won’t come for a security monitoring service so there’s no point in getting that. Instead, I get a phone alert, text and phone call and then I can decide whether to call the police. (Getting the camera helps with verification.) Also, if you have furry pets, be very careful about placement of the motion detector, as they can trigger false alarms. Might want to just get the camera. Great investment!

4 years agoWe switched from a traditional alarm system to Scout when we moved to our new home. We have a lot of smart devices included SmartThings, Google Home, Ecobee and more. We connect these through IFTTT and wanted an alarm system that would also work. It does that and has some great features but a few cons. Pros: *Works great with IFTTT and Google, allowing you to fully integrate with a smart home and use in conjunction with SmartThings and other smart devices. *Easy to set up and easy to use app. *Devices are clean and modern looking but also unobtrusive. *Price Point is not too expensive. *Has battery backup and cell service for power outage and/or wifi outage. *Can set codes to only work at certain times or certain days or set certain modes. Great for sitters, dog walkers, etc. *Can get app alert, text message, email or phone call alert. Can optionally get professional monitoring. Cons: *Must pay at least $10/month even with self monitoring. I wish there was an option to disable cell service and not pay anything. Though $10 is still very cheap compared to traditional services. *The RFID swipers are a little hard to use and sometimes takes several tries to turn the alarm off. It is hard to tell if it is armed or not. We just got a keypad so hoping that is a little easier. Overall we feel like this is a solid choice for a smart home enthusiast. For those who don’t use the smart home capabilities, it might not be worth the effort.
