They lock you in with a five yr contract. You can’t get out with moving, being unsatisfied, or financial difficulties. I knew I had to pay for the equipment, but they said I had to pay 75% of the remaining contract. It is like 1200 ( +500 for equipment) for me to get out right now, and I have been with them for two years. Also, they can raise the bill after a yr, but you’re still stuck in a 5yr contract lol. We have the alarm go off all the time from the inside doors closing. It’s a pain. You would probably get better quality and service if you do your own security system. This company is way worse than a cellphone company w/ its contracts.

Their service is a joke. Lock you into a 3 year contract where you have to pay the entire amount if you cancel, not a fee. If you miss a payment they make you sign a new 3 year contract to reinstate your service. Scam artists.

Biggest scam of my life. Long contract they said you could cancel but wouldn’t keep your stuff. Also military could cancel (had to move for military) and yet they charged me my entire contract at once. Also, they sneaky raised my bill $6 a month without notifying me! ADT is a scam. Avoid.

Wow, looks like everyone has a problem with ADT! Look at all these bad reviews. I currently have them and I would leave zero stars if I could. The system malfunctions all the time. Fire alarms goes off constantly, door alarms not working. The list goes on and on. I wanted to cancel my services due to breach of contract by ADT because after 4 technicians, they still could not solve my system’s issue. They won’t cancel without me paying 700$, they do not believe they have breached the contract apparently. I’ve already reported them to the better business bureau. Buyer BEWARE, not to mention they are very high pressure sales once foot is in the door. The system came with my DR Horton home in St Mary’s. They have to do promotions like that due to the fact they can’t get a foot in the door any other way because their equipment and customer service is so bad.

Horrible company. If you think your rep is doing something nice to help? Don’t fall for it. It’s not true. It’s a scam or a hustle. CANCEL MY SERVICE!!!!!!!! They won’t I’ve been trying for months now

My wife and I are new customers with ADT and are writing to file a formal complaint. We reached out to ADT to get an idea of the options that we would be given as we purchased a D.R. Horton home that came with $500 dollars of equipment in addition to the items that were already installed in the home upon purchase. In setting up the appointment, they would not give us an estimate of the total cost other than a monthly monitoring cost of 39.99. Once the technicians were in our home (one in training) they went to work to install the main control panel. Once installed they went through the different options. I informed them that I wanted the best option with the $500 dollars we were allotted with the purchase. The technician then adjusted the quote to approx. $2000 dollars over the $500 dollar allotment. I again told him that I did not want to spend more than the $500. He said he would not do anything less than the $2000 dollar quote. He then told me that it could be broken up into 3 payments. I told him that I did not want to do that as I didn’t want to put my family in a financial situation. He continued to say he wouldn’t go any lower than that. I felt like I had no choice but to sign the document as they would not come up with a solution that met my family’s needs. It was also not disclosed until after the document was signed (with much hesitation and a feeling that I had no other choice but to sign) that it was a 3 year commitment. I would have never signed up for the technician to come to our home if I knew the cost that would be incurred with the service and the commitment that we would be under. I do not appreciate the technician not being customer centric and ensuring that our family’s needs are being met. We also were billed 106.98 on 12/5/22 without our authorization. We would like the ability to work with ADT on a reasonable solution to the issues identified in this document. I have also filed a formal complaint with ADT with no response.
