I should have done my due Diligence prior to signing a contract and hiring Mr. Bobo. He accepted a cash deposit (again my stupidity) on January 10, 2024. He was supposed to start on 01/22/2024 but due to “ice/snow” storm he said he was running behind at a Cabin in Wears Valley, this seems to be his MO due to a complaint filed with BB in September 2023. He was a NO-SHOW after “rescheduling” to January 29, 2024. Refused to answer texts and calls. He called one time, and we advised him we wanted our money back and preferred to communicate by text message for back up. I sent a 10-day demand according to the letter of the law to file complaints against “contractors” and ask for an immediate refund of our funds. Amazing that his “business” is now closed. He is not a licensed contractor, and does not have a VALID business license with Knoxville (city and/or County) After I filed all my complaints with the State of Tennessee. Which they are unable to help me. My option is to file a small claims court filing and proceed with that to try to get a judgement against him, which I’ll have to continue to fight if “awarded” said judgement. My words of advice spend the “extra” money with a licensed contractor who is probable going to quote you $1500-2000 more than Mr. Joseph Bobo and don’t give this “man/business” any MONEY upfront. If you google his name, you will find out more about Mr. Joseph Bobo. Unfortunately, for US….. his “God Bless” attitude is very deceiving and probable taking more than us for our hard-earned money.

We hired Joe to do a small job repairing damaged flooring. It started well and we got the damaged flooring removed. After that, nothing but promises to complete the job but no work done. Very disappointed and money wasted “up front” – should have known better. We hired someone else to finish the work. Unfortunately we can’t offer a positive review.

Joseph is fraudulent. He took our deposit and continued to lie about when he would show up to do the work. Zero work has been completed. DO NOT ADVANCE MONEY TO HIM.

I ignored the 1 star review in hopes that the other reviews would be the truth but I was mistaken. Joe requested that the deposit be made via Venmo (which I do not have), so we met up and I wrote a check. He was scheduled to come out on a Monday. When I text him on Sunday to confirm his arrival time, he noted he was out for a long weekend for his anniversary and will not be coming until Wednesday. He then asked for me to send him $50 so he could have a nice time. I refused. Wednesday morning rolls around and I text him in the morning prior to his arrival time. I called him twice and text him multiple times after his arrival time with no response. I am now out $600+ and at risk for fraud since I wrote a check. I have filed a police report and changed my bank accounts. A lot of hassle and wasted time and lost money that I could not afford to lose. Do not hire Joe, work with a professional team instead.

Joe and his team recently refinished our hardwood floors and stairs. We were on a time crunch with relatives coming in for the Easter holiday, and they worked long hours to get us finished. Joe is a meticulous perfectionist who doesn’t let anything slide. We are absolutely delighted with our floors. Highly recommend!!

Joseph is a real go getter and delivers on his promises. I had him/HRI refinish the floors in my house and they did an amazing job, I was blown away by the quality of the work when I saw the finished product. Best of all, the process was pretty quick, clean, and definitely affordable. I’d recommend Joseph and HRI to anyone I know!

My wife and I hired Joe to refinish and repair the pine floors in our 100+ year old home. He did an outstanding job not only on the floors, but he brought our baseboard, door framing, and window framing (oak) back to its original beauty. The value of the house has increased significantly more than what he charged. And every time I texted or called he responded immediately. We can’t say enough about how great the house looks.

Well, it looks like Josephs luck has run out as we paid a cash deposit on Jan 3 2021 to have our floors redone and then he ghosted us daily for about a week and then we got a message from a relative of his saying he was in a ‘accident’ and was ‘banged up’ (which sounded suspect). After many more follow up texts with this relative over the next week we found he was actually in jail which was confirmed by a Google search on the Knox County Police website using his full name (and confirmed with his picture). So, we lost our deposit and had to find another way to get our floors refinished. He seemed like such a great, and personable guy though.

We are remodeling our home and wanted to extend our hardwood flooring into our kitchen. We have a unique flooring pattern where the slates alternate in width. Joseph was able to perfectly match our existing flooring and refinished everything to match. The stain he blended for us is beautiful and the floors look amazing – even other workmen on the job comment how great they look. Five stars all the way.

Joe’s passion and work ethic shine bright throughout his work. Extremely pleased with the results of my refinished floor! I recently uncovered hardwood in portion of my home and Joe was able to match it to rest of the floor like magic. He was responsive, prices were reasonable and he completed the project timely. Very impressed and it was a joy to work with him.
