Matt’s company installed my floor around Feb of 22. By June of that year the ends of my floors started to curl up and break off. I tried to contact him many times and he either did not respond or said he would come and look at it that week, but never showed up. He finally showed up at the end of the summer of 23. He said he could replace the bad pieces. I wanted the whole floor redone because I was afraid the flooring was bad and it would continue to curl up. To this date nothing from him. Please do not do business with this company!!! I wish I could post pictures so you could see his horrible it looks.

I got my wood flooring done by Matt. I love the wood floors. However, I also paid for the materials for two bathroom floors. After paying my deposit for the materials, he made many empty promises about finishing my floors. Then, he would not return my messages or answer my calls. I tried calling and leaving messages for months. Nearly two years later, he still has not finished my floors or returned my money. Please don’t do business with Matt Hild. It seems he has done the same to many others! He’s eager to take your money and then won’t respond or finish the job. Find a different company to do your business with that values integrity and their customers.

I was called at the end of May by the owner Matt Hild who was clearly in a jam. He said his old floor refinished walked off the job due to Covid and that he really needed to have this done now. It was roughly 350 for wood that he wanted to pay $1000 to have fully sanded and refinished. I agreed. I show up to begin the project and all is fine. He rolls in around noon to give me a $500 down payment (his idea) and then I don’t see him again. I finish the project a day later. A couple days go by and then I receive the dreaded email that the check bounced due to insufficient funds. I call Matt to inform hi of this and he insured me I’d get a new check soon. Over the next 3 weeks I spoke with him on the phone 4 times which all ended in him promising to hand deliver a full payment check to me. Of course no check. Finally after this I call him to threaten to lien the property and go directly to the owners and the main contractor if I wasn’t paid that day. He Finally agreed to pay me via Venmo. A few hours later I got $500 via Venmo, but to this day (over two months later) am out the other $500. I personally do not advise anyone to work with a company who doesn’t pay their subcontractors and given my dealings with him/reading others reviews I know I’m not alone in this thought. I typically don’t bash companies online, but I don’t take kindly to not being paid for my work.

I strongly encourage any interested homeowner to stay clear of Floor Source and Design. They installed the incorrect carpet selection, installed it poorly and would not assist with defected carpet. He was not willing to replace the damaged carpet (in a low traffic zone) after just 6 months of use. He didn’t show up to my house when promised. He was not responsive to my follow up calls or emails. When I showed up at his business location, he had been forced out of his space and had a dummy address for the relocation. It is unfortunate, given the other reviews posted about Matt Hild and Floor Source and Design.

Please beware! Ordered $6000 of flooring that Matt said would be done by the end of the week. After calling and texting repeatedly, the job was not done until a month later. He kept making promises and directly lying to me and my real estate agent. They also left my furniture in the rain when they left one night. They also broke my garage door off of the hinges and told me that the damages they incurred were already there when it came off. They left dings and glue on my walls, and I had to vacuum all of the carpet scraps myself when they were done. Please please please don’t use this person.

Don’t hire Matt Hild and his supposed “company” Floor Source and Design. Matt Hild is a liar and thief. He stole a substantial amount of money from my family, and I’m not the only victim of his. Read other customer reviews. He’s happy to take your money up front, but he can’t back up his promises or work. He’s been sued several times before (his own words). After Matt disappeared with my money, I tried contacting him several times to get my money back. He soon had his foreclosure attorney, Patrick Boyle, send me a letter containing several baseless legal threats if I didn’t stop pursuing the return of my money. As my conciliation court hearing against Matt and his company approached, Matt returned a portion of my deposit, not the full amount, with the demand that I remove this review. There are far more professional, reliable, accountable, and experienced flooring suppliers and installers out there.

Beware of Matt Hild, the owner of Floor Source and Design and don’t be another victim of his fraud! After making empty promises and giving us a great quote, he stole our deposit and disappeared. We’ve made multiple attempts to get our money back, and now have to go through the process of small claims court. My husband and I are due with a baby any day now, and the emotional and financial stress this professional scam artist has caused our family is detrimental. After talking with other victims, it’s clear this is a pattern of his and it’s sickening to think how many innocent people this jerk has stolen money from. Take your business elsewhere!

Matt came in and gave me the best quote out of anyone that I had out for an estimate, he was able to get the carpet ordered and installed within a week and his installers were top notch, clean and didn’t damage my walls or anything during the install. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for new flooring.

They refinished our hardwood floors and they look very nice. Matt and the installers were very easy to work with. Pricing was competitive. Overall a good experience.
