Ignore their hours. I made a special trip to the Gables to go here because I’d passed it before and saw that they had a lot of tile. They don’t have parking, which is absolutely fine, but they are in a busy spot where there is hardly ever any street parking open either. So I parked in a nearby paid garage. Walk two blocks to their door, and at 12.30 in the afternoon the lights are on but no one is “home”. Doors locked. No notice, no sign – other than the one you can see inside that says they are open from 10 to 4.30 or some such. Call their number and I’m told that those are their hours EXCEPT when they are at (one person apparently??) a consultation or home visit. Are you kidding me?? What’s the point of posting your hours? And why would I ever return to a store that clearly has ZERO respect for potential clients? Bullet dodged.

A long review but worth the read! I have never written a bad review and I am only writing this to hopefully save someone else’s time, money, and lots of frustration. To start, renovations can be a headache due to normal setbacks, but working with an honest and transparent company truly makes all the difference. During the original consultation many “false promises” were made just to sell us, in addition to the 40% up-charges for items such as countertops etc. that Cotempo tried to hide (ex. same exact countertops Contempo charges over $800 more per slab then we ended up paying for purchasing through another company). Many mistakes were made at the fault of Alex Mendoza and his staff and there was no accountability. Simple things such a measurements (measured by Alex himself) were incorrect which led to the multiple wrong cabinets ordered, cabinets were installed backwards (showing incorrect shaker designs), incorrect cabinet doors were ordered that were not approved on any rendering, and none of the mistakes were corrected , Alex somehow took no fault, and we the customer were blamed. When the job began to head south, and I started to question Alex, his phone conversations would end in him hanging up the phone, screaming and overall tones of dismissiveness and belittling, as his employee Jenny confirmed that is how he speaks to the woman in his office as well. On the day of delivery, Jenny threaten to hold our delivery even though they were paid in full (Alex was in ligation from another job he did incorrectly and was unable to confirm our delivery), during installation only one man (who was very pleasant and kind) was sent to install the cabinets in which my boyfriend had to assist him several times because it was a minimum two man job (as we had a full kitchen, laundry room and master bath renovation). Ultimately we had to go to the cabinet company directly (Brimtown) because the communication with Alex, and Jenny became extremely unprofessional, and we just wanted the correct cabinets and panels ordered to complete the job. All of which Alex forced his involvement and blocked our work from getting completed. We finished our home with another company, the process was as smooth as ever, and the quality was much better and at a fair price. Again, renovations alone are not the most enjoyable thing but with a great company, (as we found plenty in fixing Contempo’s mistakes) the process can be smooth. I have never dealt with a company like this; with the amount of unprofessionalism, hostility, and lack of any accountability. So much so, ligation would be the best option as they still owe us thousands of dollars but the headache of having to deal the Alex is worth the money lost. Any General Contractor that brags about having attorneys on retainer as Alex states should be a big enough red flag to stay away.

This place is never open during its business hours. There is a phone number on the door to call “in the event they are not open during business hours”. The person on the phone had no information, except to say that they have another showroom in Doral and we could go there. However, nowhere on the website or on google does it show a Doral showroom or second location.
