I had Angel and his team repair and replace some very loud doors in my building. They were great to work with. They fixed everything, arrived right on time and communication was really easy. Happy to have a new contractor in the area that I can rely on.

Initial Review – 5 stars. They diagnosed & repaired problems with my boiler. They are pleasant to work with, communicate well & get the job done promptly. Update – downgraded to 3 stars: I later called Smart Solutions when the boiler was leaking and they didn’t respond. Very disappointing since my initial experience was so good. I had the feeling they are only interested in large jobs.

I’m so glad they responded to my review taking ZERO accountability. I hope people are seeing what kind of company this is- they treat the customer like they are supposed to know THEIR job instead of them actually taking care of the customer and doing what they are hired to do. When you hire a contractor, they then work for you, not the other way around. Since they wanted to share our personal business of firing our GC (which is very common in house renovation unfortunately) this 1. Has nothing to do with his job and 2. Only impacted him because that GC was a crook- but see Angel (the owner) thinks he knows everything and would blame the client not one of his colleagues. Typical. 3. Everyone knows a client can NOT cancel permits, that is only what a contractor can do- and that’s what our former GC did – so if you have an issue with the permits being cancelled, you should call him with your frustrations – that was not on us. I can screenshot text messages sharing the delivery times of the materials we ordered. I was in communication on when they would be coming- apologies that they didn’t come fast enough for you! Please call Home Depot. Newsflash- when you order something- it doesn’t come right away. The city of East Orange is aware of the sham work that was done and how you are refusing to show up to complete your inspection because they know you are trying to scam and threaten a client with legal action that has yet to happen- another job they are clearly not doing. All talk, no action. I was pregnant while working with this company and they absolutely contributed to placing stress on a pregnant person and they did NOT care and still do not. Again, do NOT work with this company- I think their response shows that they do not care about the customer that paid them not a little bit of money. I’m sure they will respond again with nonsense, let that show you how to proceed

I would recommend Angel and his team to ANYONE! We are so incredibly thankful to his team for ensuring we had regular updates, on time project management, and the high attention to detail as well as commitment to customer satisfaction. Work completed included; kitchen remodel, installation of new French doors to connect two rooms, outlet installation, HVAC adjustment, and installation of pedestal sink (so a little bit of everything). Start of project: – Angel provided clear estimates that were clearly broken down for you to have an accurate idea of total cost – A walkthrough as well as Angel being able to provide pictures of similar projects put us at ease – Angel also outlines the clear expectations for payments up front in the contract so you have documentation every step of the way During project: – We have an OLD house so we inherited some weird design choices. Through the power of Pinterest and Google images that I sent, Smart Solutions was able to execute at a high level the vision we had in mind. – In addition, communication allowed us to not be caught off guard when Angel had to explain some trade offs with our design ideas. – His team showed up every single day, on time; and we had NO concerns about delays throughout the whole project End of project: – Final walkthrough allowed for timely completion of project and his team addressed all concerns – Angel confirmed his 1 year warrantee on the work – Angel and his team left the house cleaner than when they arrived; and were TIMELY with clean up. Debris was picked up at expected time! I’ve worked with many contractors in my professional life and was so happy to strike gold in finding Angel for our personal home project. My advice is to not overthink it – hire one general contractor to make your life easy, namely hire Smart Solutions!
